0:02 [Music] so this is going to be our last life of the year and I was really excited to share it with everybody because obviously you know there's this is so much happening and we're all excited for our holidays but I think this part this part of the year is one of my most favorite times because you know it also got introspecting a lot it's about planning for holidays and it's about it's about thinking what next and you

0:28 know so there's this space of all that have achieved in this here and all that I'm going to do next year so there's that much more excitement and all the news that I wanted to share with all of you guys on what everything has been happening at kids don't press I thought what better time and to start with this Facebook life right so first of all thank you so much for all the other fun stuff that you guys have been doing in

0:52 terms of you know giving us feedback on our travel tips and all of that I'm so happy that everybody liked the travel videos so much so thank you for all your feedback that's come on to you know all of all of the social media that you really like the travel pouch is that we created we caught the kids involved we started freezing things and and all of that you know that of course if you have any ideas that you know you kind of

1:17 recommend that we use for our travel you know how to travel with kids that can be awesome please please keep the sharing and we'll have cost unit out in this Facebook live itself the other and most important thing which I wanted to share about was lessons that I've learned as a parent in 2016 and you know it's I mean I'm not somebody who really believes in resolutions because I just feel resolutions are meant to be broken and

1:42 somehow it's just really hard to you know how to stick by resolution so I thought what by bit you know it's just important to reflect on some of the things that have gone by to to see really what worked and what didn't work in the last year so lessons that I have learned and of course you can you know i'm going to be sharing a key few ones that are that are my favorites but of course you can't

2:05 catch the full post that i have and all the lessons that I have learned or in 2016 on our face you know on our Facebook pages of course but most importantly on kid stop press com so so definitely after this live session you can watch that you can obviously watch our travel packing like a pro with kids on YouTube and of course you know travel snacks for kids also on our YouTube channel it's all it's all there the

2:33 first one first lesson that I've learned in 2016 is forgiveness is the key to all unhappiness and you know this line is actually from one of my favorite songs by savage God for called information which basically says that really know me need to just forgive and forget because maybe it's much easier that way and and this was a thought that came by when you know when my daughter told me that you know I forgotten to send a library

3:03 folder and I've messed up I really mess up a lot and this year has been like a big goofy right so I've done and committed obviously love mistakes have not sent things on time I have not you know they were doing a project or something else on time I've obviously not sent it so but they've been really kind and like I said my daughter said that you know it's interesting that she said this then mom if you don't make

3:26 mistakes than you are just a robo and you're not a human and I thought that was I thought that was very interesting what she said because it just made me realize that you know in achieving so much in accomplishing so much because we are always on the run that sometimes you forget that you know you're only human so you make mistakes right so forgiveness the other big one is simplifying life this is again something I've learned

3:52 from my kids it's just their ways and approach to solving problems is really simple I think as adults we just over complicate our lives and that makes it really difficult so this time we're not going to over complicate our life over just simplify life and that's why we added the tagline simplifying parenting to our you know two kids stop press because it's really all about that so when I when I'm in a dilemma or I don't

4:16 know how to approach a problem I just disgusted with my Kissin and trust me it sometimes the answers really come by they actually they actually give me solutions to a lot of dilemmas and problems that I have in life the third one of course is don't compare them right so I mean as parents and as individuals we don't like to be compared right so it's it's so important then you only say ouch are they going on this one got so

4:45 much or you know not not even amongst peers but just competition in general why we're talking about hey you know see this is app you know see this child I mean he's doing so well he's come for sin it might be completely unrelated you don't even know that kid but we just set examples for our children right and that's that's what I thought that it's so important to not compare them because I'm sure we don't like to be compared

5:10 that's that's exactly what we wanted to we don't want to compare them either right less number four is you know let's not make role models for them right because I just a the minute you say that you know you have to be like this or you have to be like that it kind of it kind of kind of closes or kind of confined their universe right so I thought it's very important to not set role models for them because really

5:36 creativity and innovation has no role model so why give them role models to follow because because you know that's only gonna again like I said this is going to restrict their creativity and thinking and what they want to be because at you know at the pace and the way these kids are wired there are really no Road modules I mean that they can be everything they will have like have the most amazing career so why are

6:02 we even looking at you know getting role models for them and restricting okay that you know you want to be this you want to be this let then just figure out what they want to be right the next one is I don't want to teach my case what's possible impossible let them figure it out right so I totally believe in the philosophy that exploration is the best way to lower I mean if you're going to let them explore they're going to figure

6:24 out it is possible it's not possible a simple thing like st my daughter came up to me and asked me Mom can you give me blue tag and you know and and she said mom category blue tag and I said sorry i don't have it she said okay let me make blu-tack right and and simple thing like she said okay some lewd acts takes maybe the key ingredient there could be you know clue and I was like maybe you know why don't

6:48 you try and you will figure it out and then she's like is there a recipe for making ludak I said again figure it out I'm sure there must be so so that's the whole thing right just let them explore and figure out you know I mean if it's possible it will happen if it's not possible they figure out that it's not possible all right I also need you guys to keep liking sharing reacting commenting because it's the only way

7:11 we'll get to know how this video and how the spacebook life is going and and of course if you've been watching her videos and please comment because that means much I know that you guys are watching it okay next up is respect and feed their curiosity so I totally wanna you know I I just feel and you know this actually came up in I live chat with amruta where she said that you know as parents we have so many choices

7:34 we will eat chinese today we go eat chinese be when a mexican today we go to a Mexican restaurant but really kids we don't really give them that much choice right so why not give them that choice of what they wanna do and respect their choices right Nicky pageant somebody to well as all the time pass for you to achieve airbrush seven o'clock school night o'clock study four o'clock drink your milk I mean their life is just so

7:56 wired I mean we had to do that I think we all these screaming and shouting on our heads right so let's let's give our kids the toys right sometimes it's I mean it's okay to respect what they feel right i mean and sometimes i think when we you know kind of respect their choices i think there's a message there right there to give us i think it's i mean i'm not saying break off routine but it's important to kind of just let

8:23 them know that you know it's okay we respect me respect using individual we respect your choice in the decision that you're making trust me sometimes when they make these kind of decisions it's just it just works sometime right and intuitively if they feel that the decision is right or wrong they'll figure it out next up is kids will hurt you I cannot even tell you the number of times that I have cried as a parent this year and and

8:49 you realize you only cry as a parent because you also realize that your kids are your biggest weakness you actually love them the most and that's that's why they're crying right and that's why you're crying because they're the only people who can hurt you and love you so much so when people ask me why should we have kids I keep saying that because there's just no other form of love that I know that is so selfless then you will

9:13 experience that that sort of love from anybody else and that's why when they do some things or they tell you that you are the worst mom ever or you're not listening to me I'm not going to talk to you okay you know just go away leave me alone or things like that it hurts but you realize in hindsight that it happens in every relationship why we expect your kids to be different right so exactly just just continue to love them the way

9:38 they are because you know trust me they're they're one of the few people who will love you more than what you can love them so yeah so just just respect them and just love them that much more pick and choose your battles this is one thumb rule that I have learned from my pediatrician because he said once you're not gonna win all of it so decide which ones you want to win decide which ones you want to let them win i follow this

10:03 thumb rule in everything during tantrum during food tantrum during times when they're really really tired during times when they're you know they're asking me for the most bizarre things between candy and chocolate simple things like that I kind of you know pick and choose my battles so what's the worse you know which is which is the better evil right so just pick it up like that so just an even on a holiday right which is just

10:30 where we are going I know there will be times when I would have zero control but i'm going to pick and choose what what i really want them to eat maybe not but really going to pick and choose the battles i want to fight in the ones that i want to win otherwise it's not going to be your holiday and then of course the most important one for me is everything in life is a choice right and you need the abella where

10:56 you're working is a choice that you're making so don't clip about being a working mom if it a stay-at-home mom don't crib about being a stay-at-home mom because that's a choice that you've made if your kid is you know not listening to you or your kid is back on staying or you're not being able to cope or you're giving more time to something and less time to something else everything is absolutely a choice so you know then why complain

11:19 about anything when it's actually your decision so that's that's one mantra that I follow that you know just just follow you know everything's life choice so don't and of course the last bit is define your universe and I keep like this where everybody is you know that there is nothing like competition everything in life is competition but the most important thing is and this isn't the Everett teach my kids as well that you know you want to be the most

11:47 popular person or you want to be you know you want to sell your product in only India only in Bombay only in the u.s. own in Asia ooh Nina void or you know you define which what your universe is because that's one thing that will drive you to achieve excellence in whatever else that you're doing so yeah that's that's about all the lessons and of course you could you miss this light wrath and you can obviously watch it and

12:12 read it on Kitster press com and yeah if you guys have any questions then keep them coming because we have a cup two more announcements and then of course get into a child you know our travel stories and all the other updates that have been happening on kid stop press so one is of course that you know from a travel perspective that you know be obviously share a lot of tips and hope you guys like it yes so Sasha's really

12:36 work the little pouches that we actually created so if you like that if you did you really like that idea then please give that a thumbs up right away and if you're going to use it more importantly then you really need to give us like a nice fun in what I call it as well yeah and that's that's really about it and please keep your travel stories coming we are going to be heading off to lock

12:58 the mall right now I have trained to catch in exactly two hours so excited about that and keep stock press as a team is really growing so keep all the love coming we have lots more new additions to our team and you know we'd love to actually do facebook live with our entire team when all of you guys are actually there so we're going to do that as well and yes that's it from us so thank you so much for joining us and if

13:23 you have n please keep sending all your suggestions and and you know articles that you would like us like us to share in 2017 and all you new year resolutions coming and please post them in the comments below so see you guys have your fabulous fabulous new year and happy holidays [Music] [Applause] [Music]
