0:00 Namaste, everyone. This podcast is going to be about the upcoming full moon in Anuradha Nakshatra in sidereal Scorpio in the very heart of this transformative rashi, which is going to take place on 30th or 31st May, depending on your time zone. Now, as you can imagine, this is one of the most transformative full moons of the year.
0:31 Because whenever moon shines with all its fullness in the place of its debilitation, firstly, moon is bringing some of its own light and some of its healing light as well into this very transformative sign in the Vedic zodiac. But it also churns the emotions within us. It stirs the emotions. Because of course, for us to be able to heal something, for us to even have the opportunity to heal something within us, we need to firstly see it. We need to firstly face it and be confronted with it.
1:15 And you see, Scorpio is the sign that is symbolically represented by all the dark places, like dark holes, dark caves, places where no light reaches and you don't really know what is there. Same is with our unconscious mind. We do not really know what is there. We do not know what type of burdens we carry with ourselves throughout lifetimes. And whenever a significant transit happens in a sign like this, we are also inspired and guided in those time periods to actually face with courage those places inside of us where there's no light.
1:58 Those places with inside of us which are exiled. Those places inside of us which we are maybe ashamed of. The places that hurt. Where we store our wounds, our shadows, our traumas. We are always in a fortnight like this inspired to just gently look towards that direction. And the trick is always that you know when in a fortnight like this, like the one right now leading us up to this full moon, when big emotions sometimes come to the surface, when some intensity comes up, it's very easy to get overwhelmed, you know.
2:43 It's very easy to also try to run away from it or suppress it because of course when something big and uncomfortable presents itself from the bottom of our subconscious mind, our natural human tendency is to try to avoid it, run away from it, suppress it, change it, fix it. And the thing is that it's not how those things are healed, you know. Those parts of us that hurt, that are exiled, that we are ashamed of, they never get healed by us trying to fix them or trying to run away from them.
3:18 They heal through our mindful presence. Through us being in contact, in connection with that which hurts us. While at the same time being strongly anchored in our true self. While at the same time being strongly anchored in our capacity to stay compassionate towards it, to stay curious about it. Because that's what truly not just decreases the overwhelm, but also helps us make sense out of this.
3:51 And eventually heal it and integrated. So for all those of you who are listening to this podcast right now and who are into intense and deep work on yourself, this particular bright fortnight might turn out to be very rewarding. Because not only you will have capacity to see with greater clarity what are those parts of you that require healing right now, but you will also receive the support in transforming it as well.
4:26 It's a very interesting full moon because on one hand, it's a lonely full moon. There's no planet behind the moon in front of it or together with it. Since quite some time already we are experiencing these lonely full moons, the Kemadruma moons. And of course when moon is lonely in its place of debilitation, that sense of loneliness, isolation, or not being understood by others, not belonging, may hit a little harder than usual.
5:00 And of course when big feelings like this emerge, again it's a powerful time for us to look towards them, to meet that sense of disconnection not by trying again to fix it or make it end, by by connecting to it. Because that's how we shift from disconnection towards connection by actually integrating it. So it's a very interesting time to observe all those feelings and work with them.
5:33 Interesting thing is that although the moon will be in Kemadruma yoga, it will be actually receiving two aspects. First of course from the sun. Sun will be during this entire fortnight in Siderial Taurus in Rohini Nakshatra. An interesting position for the Sun because Taurus represents heart chakra. And when Sun enters our heart chakra, Sun's primarily motivation becomes how to burn some of our own old attachments that are holding us back.
6:07 And this full moon in Anuradha Nakshatra in particular might bring forth, you know, some of those things that we perhaps over the years became overly attached to, overly loyal to, overly devoted to. Because Anuradha Nakshatra is the star of devotion, but it is also a star of misplaced devotion, misplaced loyalty. When we attach too much of our sense of well-being and give it away to something or somebody else.
6:39 Unfortunately, over time those type of attachments become big burdens. And instead of nourishing us, they become our chains. And naturally, full moon in Anuradha Nakshatra, with moon in its debilitation place aspected by Sun from Taurus, will be also inspiring us how to really disentangle ourselves from those attachments and really see which of those attachments or things, people we ended up loyal to, which of those relations don't ring true anymore, perhaps.
7:13 A really big theme of this full moon will be the idea of seeing those things more clearly and perhaps also choosing to divorce some of those old attachments. And embrace, you know, the idea that yes, it doesn't feel comfortable. There's lots of uncertainty that comes together with that. Because of course, sign of Scorpio, the original eighth house, is all about uncertainty. But sometimes allowing ourselves to experience this temporary uncertainty can really lead to big breakthroughs.
7:46 And just because we are too afraid, you know, sometimes to move on, to be in that liminal space where the old has been divorced, but the new has not been born yet. You know, just because it's difficult to be there, it doesn't mean that we should avoid it because there is such a potential and that also for our personal transformation as well. Now, this full moon will be particularly transformative also because it will be receiving the eighth, the most transformative aspect of Mars, which is currently shining in its Mula Trikona in sidereal Aries.
8:24 That also amplifies that very transformative aspect of this entire fortnight, which is truly very much oriented on us divorcing some of the old tendencies, choosing the new things perhaps, and really working on our self-growth, really being courageous enough to ask those big questions like what I have been avoiding just because it was more comfortable to stay in the old, to stay in the comfort zone.
8:55 A really interesting time, truly. Now, another thing that is really incredible, you know, about this particular full moon, that this full moon actually does not belong to any of the traditional 12 Vedic months. It belongs to the 13th Vedic month called Adhik Maas. It's a very interesting concept because you see, if you compare the lunar year to the solar year, lunar year falls short roughly 11 days every solar year, which means every 2 and 1/2 years roughly, every 3 years, in Vedic astrology we are adding an extra 13th lunar month into the calendar in order to compensate for the difference.
9:43 And that Adhik Maas is a truly special one. It's also called Purushottam Maas or the month of the supreme person, of the supreme lord because it is said that in that particular month we will be particularly, you know, blessed with deeper connection with the divine, deeper connection with our soul. And it is believed that any spiritual practice you perform during this month, any charity you give from your heart all of that will be multiplied, you know, manifold. The spiritual benefit of that, the punya of that will be multiplied manifold.
10:21 And I think it's particularly interesting in the context of this Adhik Maas because this time, throughout the entire duration of this Adhik Maas or Purushottam Maas sun is going to stay inside the real Taurus. So, important part of this story is that what makes Adhik Maas or the 13th lunar month so special because it's the only lunar month during which no Sankranti occurs, no solar ingress. Sun is not moving from one sign to another at all.
10:57 So, throughout this entire Adhik Maas which started just few days ago right after recent new moon in Krittika Nakshatra. Throughout this entire lunar month, sun will be staying inside the real Taurus. Again, the sign representing our heart chakra. So, throughout this entire month, the main focus will be how can I purify my heart, you know, of those burdens, attachments, wounds perhaps and how can I cultivate a more compassionate and heart-centered way of living.
11:35 Especially this bright fortnight of Adhik Maas is so powerful because it will culminate with full moon in Anuradha Nakshatra. And you see one incredible advantage of full moon occurring in Nakshatra like this is that although it brings turmoil, transformations, all of those things, but it also gives us greater connection with the soul and with our heart. And it's actually one of the best, you could say, lunar fortnights for practicing bhakti, practicing devotion to God, redirecting our devotion, you know, from all those things that we attach ourselves in the outside towards the divine, to to feel the difference, to see the difference how it is when our devotion shifts towards something higher than ourselves, to feel how it uplifts us, how it transforms us on the deepest level possible.
12:34 So, this is something that resonates with you and if you are a spiritual seeker yourself, this is one of the best times in a year to do things like chanting your mantra, diving deeper into your spiritual practice, reading holy scriptures, especially Bhagavad Gita, because it helps to transform the mind. Let us not forget that in the very beginning of Bhagavad Gita, what is happening, Arjuna is experiencing something that you could say is the very embodiment of debilitated moon, since moon represents the mind and Arjuna's mind is going through overwhelm, through depression in the middle of battlefield.
13:15 He doesn't know what to do. And then throughout the consecutive chapters of Bhagavad Gita, slowly the path is revealed to him, but not by giving him exact steps what to do, but just by changing his attitude and making him see a larger perspective to his own life, a larger spiritual context to his own existence. And that's something that my Gurudev often teaches. You see, our own existence is not isolated, it's not random. Whatever happens to you, be it supportive or challenging, it's never random. You are a part of a greater divine existence. You are an actual aspect of it.
13:58 And to realize that, you know, to be able to remind ourselves of that every single day can truly transform the way you look at every challenge that ever happens in your life. If you feel that you struggle a little bit with overwhelm during this lunar month or especially during this fortnight that is leading us to the full moon in Anuradha Nakshatra, I have also made in last year, in the very end of last year, a small workshop called Returning to the Self, which is based on the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and through simple somatic practices gives you a very easy to follow framework to work with overwhelming emotions, to work with big and intense things inside of you, especially if you always often feel confused or you do not know how to work with that. So, if you are curious to dive into that, you will also find a link to that workshop in the description of this video.
15:05 So, thank you all for listening today. I wish you a beautiful, transformative, and filled with divine love upcoming full moon and entire fortnight. Namaste.
