0:00 I said, no, you don't understand. We're entering luxury space communism. And you could see her in her eyes, like, what the f*** are you talking about? But with AI, it's finally hit the programmers, right? The developers themselves. So it's like a loss of identity for me also it feels like you're cheating you know when you play GTA and you just use all the cheat codes what the f*** where's the achievement like what's the thing No this is utopia.
0:23 Utopia. This is utopia. But to get there will be will be rough. And I'm like let's start filming and I can ask Claude Code to edit it I tried yesterday it was really good It's a cute little beach town. So that's the famous farmers market. So every day before 11 I think you can buy vegetables fish flowers and these are the famous trees. Very funny trees but they're real they look like plastic.
0:55 But they're real. Crazy. That bank is interesting, there was a woman working there. She stole 3 million euros. And then she got caught and she drives her Tesla with her mother into the ocean from a cliff. And somebody survived right? Her daughter survived but she died so damn and crazy what happened here in this little beach town. You are a tech guy, you work on that field, seeing AI. No, like I said, I see a lot of people around me, a lot of businesses, their revenues are going down, but imagine a future where we can just have a leisure time we can just chill, have like spend time with our kids, with our family with our friends.
1:37 No this is utopia. Utopia. This is utopia. But to get there will be will be rough. Probably yes it's not for me anymore. I am 50 so it's not for me Peter. It's all for the new generations I will not see this bright future but like I said I believe it's unpredictable that the future it's I have some kind of uncertainty The guy who is putting the mouth everywhere saying about the AI safety man. He was the first ones to talk about safety on AI.
2:10 He's a very brilliant guy. Because look at all this stuff happening. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the guy that went from, he was just, he left Google. That Nobel Prize winner we are just it's scary how behind we are very scary compared to China United States India just saw a video from some American American guy making fun of us about the presentation of the flying car.
2:43 We have the brains, but we have lots of bureaucracy, man, and lots of rules. There are many people who are starting the companies there. And well, you get rich there. It's much easier. So that was Antonio Antonio's cool because every time I go with him in the uber he he knows his shit he has some stuff about the the world in the future and man it's cool to talk to to this guy and what he thinks most people you talk to they they're thinking quite negatively right about AI because it's scary and maybe they're right and a lot of people are going to lose their jobs and a few years ago you would think like oh it's like let's say a few decades ago you would already have automation right so people were losing like programmers would automate other jobs away right and we're like wow that's great and they A lot of startups replaced.
3:46 Regular businesses, right? But with AI, it's finally hit the programmers, right? The developers themselves. So it finally hit us. And if you don't see that I think you're blind and I got so much pushback about this and I don't have any incentive to say it like I'm not like oh let's like I remember a lot of indie hackers got like angry in their replies like why are you destroying the indie scene bro it's not up to me to destroy this stuff you know like I'm just telling what I think and I'm not gonna lie about what I think you know and for me it's like it's bittersweet because for 10 years I've been building like apps and stuff and little businesses and it was very exciting and then a lot of other people started also doing it a lot of other people who are already doing it before me like Patrick McKenzie was always like a big inspiration Jon Yongfook as well john o nolan for example all these people rob walling he's doing it very early so but time changed now and for me it's obvious where it's going I think a lot of the businesses are going to get sucked up by these big AI labs and they're not hiding it like these AI labs like Anthropic whatever ChatGPT they're doing stuff like oh this is chat GPT for law this is Anthropic Claude for medical stuff they want to get into this they need to make money right they spend so much money they need to make the money back where are they going to get the money back from from you know replacing other businesses this is creative destruction it's Schumpeter it's basic economics and it's fine like we shouldn't be fighting it it's it's always generally good for the progress of humanity to have creative destruction in a true autistic moment I was at the sushi dinner saying because she was scared of this AI stuff I said, no, you don't understand.
5:37 We're entering luxury space communism. Of course, that doesn't hit because that's a nerd term. And I said, what's going to happen is you're going to lose your job but what's coming after is much better. Like, everything's going to be 20 times cheaper. And you could see her in her eyes, like, what the fuck are you talking about? And I'm like, yeah good point. How do you tell people this in a better way? Okay now we have DJI and mic audio so probably gonna sound better.
6:03 But that fucks with me as well because I've always been building and creating stuff especially the last 10 years, you know building stuff kind of for money. Like the whole idea of entrepreneurship was building something that people pay for. And there's this meaningful there's this meaningful vibe about that where you feel meaningful as a person that people depend on you that there's like 1,000 or 4,000 customers paying you for like a business it gives you authority also like you're on twitter right on the x you're like oh this guy can run businesses so it's like a loss of identity for me also which is I mean it's crazy to experience but it's just like it's not so bad right it's like you have to embrace it but then where where are we going next what will be the next identity you know and I guess if you ask AI itself it will tell you it will be about what you do in a day like spending time with your family with your kids with your parents with your friends sports like going for hikes going outside you know maybe maybe AI means we can finally close the computer you know like we can just live real life it's not easy for computer nerds to close your computer like preferably you sit on the computer all day so we need to learn to have a real leisure life and you know artistic pursuits learn the handpan you know learn the ukulele whatever sit in the dunes and contemplate meditate you know there's another thing when you look at like how we create things now this daily struggle of like coding stuff and designing stuff even like for illustrators like drawing drawing things and it feels like you're cheating you know when you play GTA and you just use all the cheat codes and it's fun for like five minutes and then you're like where's this achievement like I can just fly the helicopter now but before I had to spend like weeks doing all these missions make the money buy the house get the helicopter like real life there was this achievement arc and now you can essentially pay 20 a month I don't know 100 a month maybe it's free and ask GPT or Claude to make whatever you think and the first few times it's amazing you're like fuck this is my dream like for me I wanted to recreate my kid's bedroom with a windows xp computer where you can walk around and you can use the xp computer you can sit in windows as if it's 2006 and you can go on MSN Messenger and yahoo and aim you can talk to people which are AI bots and every every time there's a new model it just gets faster and it just gets easier and there's less achievement I know Dominik Sobe my friend talked about this too where's the achievement and so I'm not depressed but I'm kind of like what the fuck where's the achievement like what's the thing and I'm a natural ambitious person and also optimistic and people misunderstand me to be that I'm negative now I'm not negative just like I'm realistic like shit's changing so we have to change our whole fucking mind and our mental state to some other achievement like which could be like a hike so I bought a a dji I first wanted to get a gopro I really like watching peter Santenello's videos and I'm very proud because he was a nomad list member like 2016 or something and he was at a meetup and there's a photo of him on my site where he's at the meetup and I'm like wow that's Peter Santenello and he's my favorite like travel vlogger and he essentially has this kit like it has a GoPro little hand grip I cannot show you but it's essentially a GoPro and a hand grip here that you hold so about the same but DJI because DJI in America is banned and he's American One thing I it's very hard for me to see is like like most of my friends around me a lot of people reject this reject this whole thesis you know but then I look around me and most of my friends businesses are stagnant or shrinking my own business are shrinking but I can blame on myself you know and then the businesses I do see that are still going are like sponsorship based you know so it's like vc companies AI companies sponsoring like this sponsor my Vibe Jam was a lot of money they sponsored Marc Lou right like Higgsfield so we're becoming like influencers right and then you have you have a few of these other moats right but you have like you still have enterprise B2B moats where like B2B is always behind I would say a few years maybe 10 years five years my friend who works for a very traditional business in austria just started using AI to code and he's like wow and this is like what like four years after ChatGPT right it's a bit late in my little beach town I do see like you see a lot of people leaving you see a lot of freelancers lost their jobs like illustrator UX designer a lot of people the startups they don't really work anymore because everybody's building startups now everybody has a landing page everything has a landing page my personal trainers all my personal trainers make their own apps they have their own websites they only have their own things so we just increased competition by like a thousand because everybody can make anything now so what other moats are there?
11:57 There's a community right? I tried with Nomad List I made it free nomads.com I like to keep calling Nomad List because it has emotional value but it's free now and gets like 3,000 new signups per month before it was like 200 when it was paid but now it doesn't make money anymore so I need to figure out other ways there's a sponsorship like SafetyWing sponsors this nomad insurance month and then you know the membership charges one dollar for anti -spam so it's like you know a few thousand but not a lot so I'm seeing this and I'm thinking okay we should also switch you know audience is a moat content is a moat if you have all these AI generated influencers talking like that's cool but it's not gonna be as good as a real person you know so I think that's why I want to make more content yeah maybe we just need to create some content of course you could say why you need to do anything you're done like yeah but I get bored you know and I think this is cool and I can show you guys when we travel how it is where to go we can visit like AI companies or something or you know we can visit interesting people and talk to them and go for walks with them It's good to be outside in nature.
13:15 I think it'll be cool to do these do these monologues you know and also it'll be cool to talk to people like we did today a little bit I'm always scared when I buy stuff that like I'm not going to use it so I'm going to force myself to use this
