Same environment, war, Vietnam- - [John] Inflation. - My brothers and sisters, you know brothers are coming home in a box. The president's corrupt, all this horrible stuff and I think the same thing is happening now. It's happened to me. I can identify it. People are turning to God. Young people are turning to Jesus. This is an amazing thing that is happening. A revolution is taking place.

0:30 You've tried all the drugs. You're disillusioned with everything. Some of the music's good, but this, there's issues. Music has to change too. That's what I'm seeing. People are turning towards religion and I think that that will always be the saving grace. It happened to me with like, 'cause I guess I was a little nihilistic. I was definitely cynical. Like, I mean, life's a scam. Everything is a scam. - Everyone's on the tape. - It's a scam.

0:55 Everything is not to be trusted. But there is truth and I'm seeing people find this truth. And I'm seeing it with my daughter, my stepdaughters without any prompting. I try to be a good Christian and I pray for them and they know that. And I've only been, you know, been saved for a year and a half or something but I've already seen them go, well, you know right, now I'm in between jobs but I know that through him anything is possible.

1:20 Like, what did you just say? So, this is something that's a natural occurrence and I believe that the internet actually helps us. This actually helps people spread good messages basic truth, the basic truth of the world and that's something that you can hold onto and build from. I'm seeing this happening, everywhere. - I didn't get a chance to hear your conversation with Joe Rogan, but I did listen to this morning as I was walking my dog your conversation about faith with Glenn Beck.

1:49 What brought you to this place? 'Cause you, you've said in other places you were an atheist. - [Adam] I actually never used the atheist word- - Or maybe. (men talking simultaneously) - Oh, I was an atheist, sounds kind of icky, doesn't it? But yeah, I was def, I was not religious, at all. - Well when you look at recent polls have shown for a young generation maybe this is the collapse before a boom. But belief, not just in, you know, it was the case.

2:13 It was like, oh, I'm not religious, but I'm spiritual - [Adam] Spiritual. - But now the polling is showing no, I don't believe in any of it. - Well, we have this atheist, super atheist movement with, you know, like even some podcasters, you know? - Oh yeah, Sam Harris and Dawkins. - Yeah, that's kind of tapered off. And I think it's, when people come into desperate times and feel desperate with things that happen around them I don't know if I actually felt desperate but I just kept getting, I'm open.

2:39 You know, I'm now 58 and so, in my 57th year or 56th maybe even, I'm starting to feel things. And what happened to me is I looked up and I'm working with Christians. And these are software developers. These are, you know, rock and roll people. I mean, Alice Cooper, you know. I'm like Christian, Christian, Christian. And no one ever pushed anything ever, ever pushed. - Yeah. - I could ask a question like do you really think that with Revelation it's gonna be like all this fire and it's gonna be horrible and the horsemen and the trumpets and we're gonna be zapped up if we believe and we die if we don't?

3:13 And, you know, they'd gimme their opinion but no one ever pushed anything on me. But when I saw, I was look and these guys seem pretty happy. What's going on with that? Maybe there's something to this God thing. And it was actually Naomi Wolf who wrote a couple substacks and- - Yeah, she's come out as being more religious now. - Christian, yeah. And she's Jewish, which makes it even even cooler is what we call a Messianic Jew.

3:38 But she saw evil and this is how I came to it. I saw evil and the evil, what happened with Covid Lockdowns. I mean, I'll stay away from too many controversial topics but there was a lot- - No, we can go, that's fine. - A lot of pure, just evil against civilization and humanity globally. And it wasn't really the people individually, it's like they were driven by something. And so, she wrote very eloquently in a couple of her first substacks about, you know, the evil.

4:08 And then so, her logical conclusion, she's an intellectual if there's this evil, there must be good. There must be a balance to it 'cause that's just how the world works. And I went, that's an interesting, interesting conspiracy theory. I'm going to examine this. Like, everything else I do, JFK assassination, moon landing, you know, you name it, I'm gonna research this. And, within three weeks I had read more evidence of the existence of God and Jesus being real.

4:37 And not just that, I'm talking to like cowboys in Texas and my buddy Texas Slim, he says, man, Jesus was a badass outlaw. I'm like, I'm very interested now. And there's a book, John Eldridge, "Beautiful Outlaw" and he talks about, so this whole idea of ahhh, and you know, and Mother Mary and Jesus and it's all velvety. No, no, no, no, no. We have series like "The Chosen", which give a very different depiction of Jesus and His life and the disciples then we've kind of thought was always there.

5:09 - Well, He was a convict. He was put to death, right? I mean that's, you know, there's like a lot of interesting ways to think about that. But it's like, He's somebody that, you know there's people like Him in jail right now. - But also in the past 20, 30 years there had been so much archeological proof that these things really happened. Proof that He existed, proofs that more, 150 people saw Him come back to life after three days.

5:35 Which is the kind of the ultimate reason why you believe. - I was just gonna ask, like, there's one thing to say. Jesus was a man. Jesus had followers, Jesus was crucified. None of that says Jesus is the Lord or Jesus is God. What takes you over to the place of the metaphysical and I'm Catholic I believe in Christ, but, what was the thing that? That's a big big leap to me. - Well, really, the proof that He predicted He would be put to death and would come back.

6:02 He predicted that. He kept saying it. And this is quite well documented better documented than Zapruder film. I mean, this is, there's a lot of evidence that demands a verdict. Another great book. You just, you just look at the and you just read this stuff. And I have taken beliefs in the CIA killing JFK over much less evidence than the evidence of God being real and Jesus being real. And then, when you start to pray and we have a beautiful church in Fredericksburg where we live, which is the Bridge Church which is, you know, not legalistic.

6:33 You know, we believe in the Word of God and Jesus, and we sing. I mean, it's basically, it's like a show every Sunday. You know, you got music. You got some preaching. You meet each other, you talk. And these are not Jesus freak crazy people. They're lawyers, doctors, you know? - Yeah. - Intelligent people. I love them all. But also, you know, all levels of society. And I started praying. And when you pray and and you ask for things you know, if you ask, you'll be answered.

7:01 If you seek, you'll find. If you knock on the door, it'll open. And those things happen for you (Adam exhaling) it's just mind blowing. - What has been, this is such a big change to happen for you, what has been the hardest part of this transformation? Like, have you had friends who are like have you lost friends or has it been entirely a positive, you know, a light? - It has been 99.9% positive.

7:33 The only criticism I've received is from Christians. You didn't say it right. (John laughing) You didn't explain that thing right. It has been, you know, when I was going on Joe and I felt it within me, like, I've gotta say something. I have, this has to come out. And my wife and she said, you really gonna talk about this? She was worried, you know, and I said, yeah, but I have to do it. And just all the messaging was positive.

7:58 Everything's been positive. No one has excoriated me that I know of. No one has said, oh, you know, he's a crazy kook. If there's five that I've seen, that's about it. Which to me is more evidence that something is going on. And now, I'm seeing that, oh, wait a minute. He's been working through me for a long time. This has been good. My entire career has been planned out and I can see all these things that happen and why they happen.

8:26 And it's all to come to, maybe even this place to tell you, this, at this moment, podcasting itself which is the most truthful, believable medium at the moment. Everything else is crap. It really is. Everything is manipulated. It's disappeared. You know, when you hear two people speak or you hear a person talk long form you are a human. You are divine. You can feel what's, you know what's truthfully. You can really start to make up your own mind whatever your truth has to be.

9:00 But it's unadulterated. And that's what's so beautiful about it. So, why, and I never made a penny on the invention of podcasting or Dave Weiner. It was co-invented. - Yeah. So it's the Pod Father and now it's the Pod Father, Son and Holy Ghost. (Adam laughing) - Hadn't thought about that. I like that, yes.
