0:00 It's Employment Thursday, so we're doing it today. I hope you're looking forward to a great July 4th weekend, our 250th birthday. That's pretty exciting. And maybe these charts won't be as exciting, but there are some weird ones, so I do hope you tune in. I'm going to start now with the intro and then when we get to slides, we will cut this live portion off. So.
0:30 All right, let's see. Greetings, everyone. This is Cathy Wood. This is Employment Thursday, not Friday. We're going into July 4th weekend. I wish you all a very happy July 4th, our 250th birthday. Very exciting, and maybe not so exciting are all of the charts that I'm going to present. There was a weird employment report today, and when I say weird, I'll put it in context when you see the charts.
1:09 But when you look at these charts, you'd think that we were in a recession. I am so happy that Kevin Warsh is now at the Fed and that one of his task forces is going to look at at data, government data, how it's derived, and probably bring in more private data, which I think will be very helpful. I think these government statistics have become very distorted, so we'll do a lot around that.
1:44 And we'll also be looking at inflation and trying to figure out where it's going. I just got back from a trip throughout Asia and Europe, and the fear of inflation and higher interest rates was palpable. Now, I think one of the reasons for that is currencies elsewhere in the world have been going down or in many places. I think Japan and Korea are the most notable.
2:15 So I think their focus on the dollar, inflation, interest rates was as much about their own currencies as inflation and interest rates themselves. So we'll get into that as well. So right now I'm going to go through the slides and we'll go through fiscal policy, monetary policy, economic indicators and some market indicators. Many of them you've seen before, some you have not.
2:49 So I'm going to end the live portion of this, of this recording. And again, happy 4th. Have fun. Have fun. Enjoy.
