0:00 India's security environment has changed fundamentally and faster than most people expected. The events of recent years, frankly of recent weeks, have made one thing undeniable. India cannot afford to depend on others for its own defense. Not on foreign supply chains, not on imported systems that may not be available when we need them most, and not on technology built for someone else's terrain and someone else's threats. The need for indigenous capability for India to be able to secure itself on its own terms has never been more urgent. We actually see startups playing a big role here. That's why we put this series together. At Elevation, we have spent the last few years going deep on India's defense sector. Not because defense spending is growing, but because we believe this is a generational moment for Indian founders to build technology that genuinely matters. We wanted to understand the space from the inside, so we went and spoke to some of the people who actually live it. Generals who have commanded at the highest level, policy experts, founders who are actually building serious companies in the space, and builders actually putting next generation systems in the hands of the Indian military. If you're someone thinking about building in this space or already building, this series is for you. Not a pitch for why defense is a good market, you can see that for yourself, but a genuine attempt to answer the harder questions here. The folks featured in this series are some of the best possible people to answer these questions. This is defending India.
