0:00 hey guys it's Jason with dad University Brad here just put me through his live lien dad workout and I can tell you it's pretty darn good I'm a little sweaty I've got a little bit of my heart rates up but it was good so I wanted to introduce everybody to Brad and maybe you can tell them a little bit about the the live lean dad program so I created this program because a lot of dads are

0:22 either all in or they're all about meaning that if they can't train at the gym or they don't have enough time today they just let themselves get do that but now this program can be done in 30 minutes at home no equipment no excuse oh yeah no excuses and that's why I created the program yeah and as you guys know I mean I'm really into you know eating healthy taking care of ourselves and that's what turned me on to - Brad's

0:46 program is that it's very quick its dad friendly in that aspect you don't need to spend a lot of money on weights in fact we just did this half hour workout with no weights whatsoever so that's I really appreciate that because it makes it simple and there's really not a lot of barriers to doing it so one pair of dumbbells but like the workout you're going to see that I put Jason through all we needed was baby socks yeah so

1:07 trying to work out cuz as you can see yeah he's sweating it's a good work yeah [Music] [Music] okay guys when you get the program it's all mobile-friendly it's up here on your

1:38 phone or you can follow along with the follow along workout videos all real time squat jump in reach is starting off we're going ten reps so Jason's going to show you faces in the camera for the first five reps then we'll switch around and show you from the side all right here we go good job so what he's trying to do here his hips go back into a squat he's powering up through the floor his feet are coming up and he's throwing his

1:59 arms in the air to pretend like he's kind of blocking a volleyball so we're going for five reps and then show it again it's why I showed them from the side so see he's going down he's remaining on his heels though he's not going up on his toes arms going in the air to block that volleyball once you're done ten reps you can stop kept your breath but we're gonna keep rest periods very short here because we

2:19 want your workouts shorter so you can spend more time with your kids so let's move on to the next exercise the 180 squat jump turn so what this is similar jump squat but he's going to go side to side in a 180 degree and good land and that 10 reps so that's three that's four five six so he's jumping and that's another rep so it's not one rep to go back and forth good similar exercises the first one good job really gonna get

2:51 that heart rate go and that's what's great yeah that's what's great about plyometric workouts is not only you feel like a super dad because you're athletic you're like your favorite athlete but you're also getting your heart rate to get crushed those trouble zones next exercise forward cone jumps and you may be wondering Brown what is in your hands these are baby kylus socks because as dads we're always carrying around extra diapers you know what it's like right so

3:14 this is going to act as the cones so I'm going to throw three these down on the ground it's about four to five yards in between and we'll start there so what you're going to do is you're going to jump land and then jump again but I want you to be fast on your feet very athletic here yup and then come right back so down jump land good and back again good one more and switch around

3:41 and go back reps here good so fast feet here guys but make sure you land stick it and then go again feel like you're back in gym class in like grade nine good job what number is that three three alright that's five we'll give it to you that's five okay good job so now take a break just kind of let your heart rate go down a little bit but once again don't rest too long you want

4:11 to just allow your heart rate to go down that you can have a conversation with somebody and then we're going to move on to the next exercise in the program is lateral cone jumps so once again the cones are already down on the ground we're only going to go side to side on one cone there so you're here jump to this side you can go that way yep good job three four five once again quick feet yup ten seven eight nine ten

4:40 awesome job so you played volleyball right so he's like you can tell like the movements the moving patterns the explosiveness is there if you feel awkward doing this that's okay because you're at home doing it you could step to it so if you have like need knee issues or joint issues with these workouts you can just modify them and if you don't know what to do you can always like tweet me ask me questions and I'll

5:01 find you an exercise modification but yeah you could just step over like this but maybe add a little bit more reps to to get your heart rate to where it needs to be okay let's move on to exercise number five is in the program it's a lateral bench step over we don't have a bench right now so what we're going to do is this is a modification that's a little bit easier on the joints so pretend like this is a bench you're

5:22 gonna step over squat step over and squat so we're going yes modifications so pretend like this is like a toy on the ground you got to step over it and squat down good nice deep squat and that's to to find your balance and then move on good job so for this one we're going to go ten per side but if we had a bench here we would have booked on six per side but we're modifying it so we're going a

5:50 little bit more reps nice it's got a little hop in there if you want good job in okay squat depth jump so this is another one where you need a bench but if you don't have it we're gonna modify it so what did we say we're gonna do for this morning we're gonna do some four so we're doing a pendulum lunge here so a pendulum lunge you're going to lunge forward this arm comes forward I was

6:15 coaching Jason through it earlier like you're sprinting so this elbow to there and then you're back in the same way yeah so let's switch you around so you're gonna go face this way to that way so they can see so we're going ten reps yep and then back good same leg and if you want to make it even more difficult don't stop right there just transition back right away there you go perfect that's gonna mop that's gonna

6:40 make a little more difficult so you can go ten per leg this is going to be a little bit easier on the joints because you're not having that you're not jumping so the knees aren't gonna take as much of it just too long yeah so forward and back that's one rep once you hit ten I think that's good switch legs so go to go to the other leg so if you can hear the heart rate is jacked it may

7:07 look like it's easy on video or maybe your thing in the tire I don't know he's making a looky he's done this before it's not so we're going ten per leg here and five more that's gonna our camera our camera person is counting back there so after you've done ten reps of this final exercise you're going to take a rest period allow that heart rate to come back down again and then you're going to go at it again so you've got

7:38 two sets of these this circuit and then you're done awesome job so I'm not gonna put you I'm gonna put you through another one off-camera but I think that's good for the camera you guys got six exercises there that you can do at home no equipment needed like except for the baby socks which I know you have it so oh uh Jason come on up here what did you what'd you think of the workout no it's

8:00 great it's definitely got my heart rate up yeah cuz I'm breathing heavy yeah so he needs to wait a little bit longer for he goes into the next round it's cool is how quick I mean we were here for what five minutes less probably if we look back at the clock the idea six and a half minutes so the idea that you can get your heart rate up that quickly and use some different muscles yes awesome

8:20 exactly and so I created this program because guys all new dads are always saying they don't have time they're going to work or they're watching the kid they don't have time to go to the gym but they want to be fit cuz they're adding that extra baby weight so this is one of the kind of workouts watch it at home click play on the video you're gonna train right side by side rep for rep with me it's all real time go to

8:40 live lean dad calm with that we'll put a link to Brad's workout in the description below and once again thank you for putting me through it and we'll see you guys next time [Music]
