I Copied a Website That Makes $1M/Year (STEP BY STEP) HOW TO START NOW

I want to show you guys a website that I just found today that literally looks so simple at first glance, but it's making insane money and they're not even selling any products. I also found out that these types of websites are making around $1 million every single year and literally no one talks about it. And I would have never brought this up to you guys before, but because of the power of AI, it has never been easier to create our own type of website like this for ourselves. So in this video I'm going to break down exactly how you can do that.

0:27 I'm going to show you how these websites are making money, how they grow using organic traffic, and then I'm going to show you step-by-step how I built a similar one just like this. Obviously, this is not a guaranteed income type of video. Like everyone has different kinds of results with this. I just want you guys to understand what is possible when you understand the business mindset behind these types of platforms and how accessible it is for the average person like you and I to create something like this. So let's do this. So the websites that I'm using as examples today are these: dupe.com and fetchfashion.ai.

1:03 They basically do the same simple task for users. They help people find dupes of their favorite products just by them putting in a link or uploading a photo. And there are versions of these sites that specialize in furniture, clothing, and so many more depending on like how the site is branded. It's doing a simple job, solving a simple problem, and providing value. But how do these sites actually make money? The main way that a website like this makes money is through affiliate marketing. And this business model really is so smart because the website isn't even having to create a store, manufacture anything, or ship any of the products that you see. All it's doing is sending people to another retailer that already want to buy something using affiliate links. So let's just say I search for a $4,000 couch and the website shows me a a one for 800. I just click shop now and it sends me straight to the retailer. And if I make a purchase on that site, the dupe website, the owner of these websites earn a commission for referring that customer. These websites are just making money by referring people to what they're already wanting to buy. Just helping them find a better price at it.

2:15 And that's what's interesting about this type of affiliate marketing website is people, like I said, they're already ready to buy. They're already looking for it. They're already about to buy the more expensive one and they just go on this website to get a cheaper one. It's not just like trying to find somebody random and and show you why you need it. It's already buyers ready to buy. There are tons of retailers and affiliate networks that allow people to do this and they encourage it as well because that's how they're getting sales is from websites like this. And obviously, some websites will give you, you know, 20% commission, some will give you 10% commission. They have like a bunch of different programs, but obviously, this can be very profitable. And obviously, affiliate marketing is not the only way to make money with a website like this.

2:55 You can also make money just through like ads on the actual page itself. So, people that are using this free tool, they're also, you know, you can throw ads on this as well across the page and you also can get paid just for views on these websites. So, you potentially have two different ways that you can monetize with one simple website doing a simple job through the affiliate commissions when shoppers shop through the links and through the display ads. So, let's just say that this website like dupe.com is getting around 2.3 million visitors every single month. Instead of making money from ads, this business model here is just straight affiliate marketing.

3:32 Like they don't even care about the display ads, even though they could have them. So, let's just do some very simple hypothetical math here. If 2.3 million people are on this website and just five of them end up purchasing something through an affiliate link, that's around 115,000 purchases every single month. And even if the website average just $3 in affiliate commission per purchase. That would be around $345,000 every single month in potential affiliate commissions. Now, obviously, we don't know exactly how much this website is making. We don't know their conversion rate. We don't know exactly what percentages they're getting. But, the whole point here is you don't need millions of viewers to actually make money with this. Especially because a lot of the traffic that these websites get are free traffic. And a lot of these people are just Googling for these websites already. So, they're already searching for these websites. And I'll talk more strategies at the end of this video of how to actually get users to the website. But, for now, we need a website like this first before we can start bringing traffic to it. So, first, let me show you how easy it is to actually build your own type of platform like this using the power of AI. So, let me show you how I built my own type of version of these types of websites using this AI tool, which is called Abacus AI Agent. I'll put the link for this tool down in my description box below. Once you click that link, it will bring you to this page. And before we start building, I want to just explain like why we are using this one versus other ones. This platform is actually an all-in-one cloud platform where you can build, host, and get your real software out there just by describing what you want in plain old English.

So, let's go ahead and just describe what we want here, and Fable can ask me a few clarifying questions, and then the agent can help me plan it, and then code it, test it, debug it, and helps us get the finished website completely live. It works on the front end of your website, the back end of the website, the database and hosting instead of only just like designing what it looks like from the outside. Cuz maybe there's a lot of like internal stuff that needs to be done as well.

6:35 Fable can help figure out how to actually make it all work together. And here's the exact prompt that I'm going to use. So, let's go ahead and just type this out together. Build me a modern, AI-powered product dupe finder called Find My Dupe. Users should be able to paste the URL of an expensive product they like, and the app should be able to help them discover visually similar alternatives at lower price points. Create a clean, modern homepage with a large search box that says paste a product link. Display the original product and then show similar alternatives with a product image, retailer, price, estimated savings, and a shop this dupe button. Add filters for category, maximum price, and minimum savings.

7:24 Include categories for furniture, fashion, handbags, shoes, accessories, and home decor. Make the website visually polished, extremely easy to use, responsive, and structured with SEO best practices in mind. That's the Google search. Create a front end, back end, and database needed for the application, test core functionality, and prepare everything for public deployment. Then, I just hit submit and immediately Fable starts working. And instead of it just like instantly giving me a random website, it can actually ask me clarifying questions about what I'm trying to create. So, maybe it asks like how I want the products displayed, how the search should work, or how I want certain features handled. So, I'm just going to like answer all these and then the Fable starts actually building. Now, you guys can see it's planning out the application, creating the files, building the front-end, working on the back-end, creating the database structure that we need, testing functionality, and if something's not working correctly, it literally debugs the problem and continues. Like, it's so crazy. I'm not like sitting here writing all the code myself. I'm not having to pay an expensive developer. Like, I literally just described what I wanted and it's literally helping me turn that into a real software. So, after it finishes working, let's go ahead and see what it created. And look at this, you guys. We already have the first version of Find My Dupe. We have our homepage, our product search, our different shopping categories, our filters, our product result cards, and our Shop This Dupe buttons. But, the most important thing that we do is we don't just like want a beautiful website. We want to make sure this actually works. So, let's go ahead and test it. So, I'm going to take this expensive chair link and let's just copy and paste the link. So, here's what it's currently selling for on this website. So, let's go ahead and let's copy this link.

9:16 Let's go back to our Find My Dupe, paste it into our search, and click on this, and look at this. Here is our original product, but underneath we're getting similar alternatives at different price points. We literally did it. Well, AI did it, but we told it what to do, and it did it. So, it's really crazy. Our app is literally showing how much cheaper each option is compared to with the original. So, let's just say my budget is only a thousand dollars, I can change the maximum price here. So, literally gave us that filter. And our results update. That is exactly what I wanted. So, you guys can see like the first version looks really good, but just like any other app, like if you want to add something to it or improve it, you don't have to dig through like the source code and find that yourself.

9:59 We are able to just simply tell Fable what I want. So, I'm going to go back and say keep everything as is, but make the results page feel more premium and useful. Make the product images larger, display the percentage saved more predominantly, add a heart button so users can save products, and add a best match section that highlights the strongest overall dupe. Make sure saved products persist correctly in the database, and test the feature before finishing. Then, I just hit submit. And you guys can see it's making the changes now. So, now we can see a best match, the percentage we're saving, larger product images, favorites, and a much cleaner shopping experience. Another thing I want to say guys is like obviously this type of website is like so simple. I wanted to pick something to show you guys that was like pretty simple, not something like too overwhelming, especially if you've never like built a website like this before, especially with AI. So, one thing that I do want to say is this Abacus AI agent goes way beyond what we're actually building today. Because of its databases and storage capabilities, like you can do so much more with this. For example, if you wanted to like connect like outside services or resources, you can build all of this in the back end. And if you're already like more advanced to like technology of this I mean this type of technology, Abacus AI supercomputer also can work with GitHub, AWS, and SSH also.

11:24 You also have so many different AI models available inside this ecosystem, so you're not just forced to use one provider or one model for everything. You could potentially use one model for one task and another model for something completely different. So, if you start with something as simple as the app that we're building today, you can scale it into something much larger. For example, like this is some other cool stuff that I've seen people build that I like researched into that they've used like this platform to build. So, for example, like people have literally made 3D playable games with this. Like look at this one, it's called 3D Castle and I mean look at the like look at the lighting, the fog, the torches, like rooms you can explore. Like it's just like so crazy. So, like you can make a whole game with this.

12:06 There's like AI trading strategy labs. So, if you were somebody that does trading and like you wanted to build out like your own trading platform, it can do that as well. So, I thought this looked really cool. And it even like shows metrics like return, drawdown, win rate, and like the ratios. And just like tons of just different stuff here. People have even like built their own YouTube platforms. Like you can literally make your own like TV platform with these as well. You can also like build your own social media platform.

12:34 Like if you're wanting to like take on Facebook or like Instagram or TikTok, make your own version of it. People have done that as well here. Like you can literally have a live feed. You can see online, make a real-time social platform. Like and you can even make like a platform that allows one-on-one video calls. Like it's actually insane like what people are doing with this platform. And really quick you guys, let me just show you how to make this go live. So, let's just go back to our website that we made. Once the app looks like how we want it, we're ready to actually put it online. And this is another really important part of this is like it doesn't just help you generate the software, it actually helps you run and host what you made. So, when we're ready, we're going to just use the one-click public deployment to deploy our project to a live URL. Just your link, your website link. So, here is our website link. We're going to go ahead and deploy it. And once that is finished, we have our public URL, like I said, got that done, and now you guys can see it is live on the internet, which is so crazy. But again, I don't want to just assume that it works because it's out there. Let's just test it one more time. I'm going to paste our product and there it is. We got it working, guys. It's live, it's working, it's out there.

13:52 Publicly accessible application. Now, obviously, like if you're turning this into an actual business, like you would want you to have like your own domain with this for sure. So, I would also obviously want this to be my own domain. So, you would want to come up with something short, punchy, like we already kind of have our name, but you'll want to just get your own domain just so it looks more legitimate. And then once you have that set up, you can connect it to your website, and then you'll have your own custom domain through there. And you can do this all within this platform, obviously. Okay, so now that we know that it's working, we need to make sure that the affiliate marketing stuff is going to work as well. So, we need to make sure that the affiliate marketing deals are in our website. If they are not, then we're not going to be able to monetize this. So, let me show you guys how to do that. So, we are going to find all the retailers that are offering affiliate marketing opportunities for us and programs that we want to participate in. And once our website actually gets going, like people will be reached out to us a lot, stores will be reaching out to us a lot. but we want to make sure that we actually go out and like hook everything up. So, one website that I really do love is called Impact. You can just type in impact.com and create a free account. This will connect you with brands and affiliate deals, and you get to actually see like an entire network of all the affiliate deals available to you. Then, once you get approved for each one, which is a lot of times instant, you're able to add these affiliate links onto your database. So, go back in, and on screen, I'm just going to say, "Add affiliate link support to the product database.

15:24 Each product should have a normal retailer URL and an optional affiliate URL. If an affiliate URL exists, the shop this dude button should use that URL. Otherwise, it should use the normal retailer URL. Create a private admin area where I can add or update affiliate links without changing the public website. Do not fabricate affiliate links, only use URLs I provide." Then just hit submit. And once Fable finishes, now we have a way to actually manage the monetization behind our recommendations. So then when somebody clicks the shop this dude button, they're going to be sent to the retailer using the appropriate link that we've added. And if that person makes a qualifying purchase, we're going to get the affiliate commission according to that affiliate program specifically. So it's going to take you really like a day to go through all as many affiliate commission things as you can, and then obviously you're going to be able to see data as well that can help you like if someone's looking for a specific thing, you're like, "Okay, let me like make sure I go get that cuz that's like obviously being searched for." You can add it all through here. And it just set up an entire system that we can use that with. And like I said to you with the display ads, you can also apply this website to Google AdSense, and you can do that just by going to adsense.google.com, creating an account through there, signing in, showing them your website.

16:42 Once you are verified, it will give you a code snippet and tells you to place it inside like a specific part of your site. Once you do that, we can go right back into Fable and just tell it this prompt right here. I'll leave it on the screen for you guys. And then after you give it this prompt, it'll put that exact code that Google gives you there. And then once you're done with that, you can then have display ads on this website and make money doing that as well. So everyone that views it, even if they don't like even use it, if they even just click on your website, you are getting paid. Now a lot of people rely on just like Google traffic to grow their software companies, right? I don't.

17:20 >> >> I don't like to rely on it, to be honest. Like I Sure, you can, but if you are like hungry to like make a lot of money and grow this business really fast, you shouldn't just rely on Google like people looking for it on Google. Why should you when you can literally get free organic traffic from social media? I started my accounts with literally zero followers, not even showing my face. I feel like the best most successful software companies out there are literally faceless accounts.

17:50 Like I've seen so many Instagram accounts that like promote their software and they do such an amazing job. I'll put a few on the screen for you guys of that, but you could even, you know, if you wanted to like invest in this software company, hire UGC content creators, do different things, and really just go all in and just like promoting it yourself and like burning people to it. I see it all day long on TikTok, Instagram, etc. completely faceless. And remember too, is this is something sellable. As you grow this, if you something like you don't want to deal with anymore, you can sell it for so much money. That's why you see people getting into software companies nowadays, creating simple platforms like this, and then selling them for millions of dollars. Like it's actually so crazy like that entire like side of that industry just because it's never been seen before and it's just it's just so interesting to me cuz it's such like a faceless concept which I love, you guys love. And it's something that like genuinely anybody can do. It's just the idea behind it and AI just allows us to do it so much easier than ever before.

18:51 So use ChatGPT, use Claude AI to come up with ideas. Scroll on Instagram, TikTok, see what people are having problems with and come up with your own ideas of different ways that you can serve others with different websites that you can create using platforms like this. And obviously this isn't like about like looking for somebody and trying to copy somebody. I mean obviously a lot of people will see what someone else is doing and just do it better. I mean, that's business.
