0:00 Time blocking 10. So valuable. Betting for two reasons. One, it forces you to make an estimate on how long something is really going to take. And when you actually take the next couple steps, you realize it's not going to take as long as you think. And then two, when you have your calendar blocked with the things you're supposed to do, I at least get into this gamification mode of being like, let me just beat the clock, beat the clock. And then all of a sudden I just crush so much more in the day.
0:20 >> Making your bed. >> That's a five. I understand the behavioral component of like doing one small thing creates other things. But from a physics component of like, do you need to make your bed in order to make money or have a successful >> successful business. I would say no. >> Putting phone on do not disturb. >> Noise destroys me, man. I'm going to say 10. I am a believer that focus comes from removing, not adding. And so like the ultra productivity hack is have nothing else but the work to do.
0:40 >> Setting timers. Parkinson's law. >> I would say nine. I find that having the timer there almost just gets me to act faster more than I really am paying attention to the time. It was when I get into the flow, I don't even see the clock anymore. It also has helped me realize how fast things actually take versus how long I think they take. And the majority of the time is getting into the work, not the work itself.
0:58 >> Deep work. >> 10 out of 10. The problems that matter most in the business are the ones that you don't know how to solve yet. And then when you solve them, they become the things that get you the most bang for your buck. But the reason it's deep work is because you're not sure how long it's going to take. >> Time studies. >> Seven out of 10 if you're doing it all the time. 10 out of 10 if you don't have enough time in your day. It's like if you're in increasing debt, you should look and make a budget. If you keep saving money every month and you're doing well, you don't need to check it as much because you already have the habit.
1:22 >> Doing the most important task first. >> 10. And the reason for it is like if it's truly the most important task, then it makes the rest of the tasks irrelevant anyways. I think selecting the most important task is probably the true 11. >> Waking up early. >> Completely irrelevant. Doesn't matter at all. That's a five. I think what matters is having time to yourself that is not interrupted. >> Good physical fitness. >> Seven, eight, nine, 10. Seven in your 20s, eight in your 30s, nine in your 40s, 10 plus in your 50s and beyond. I think this is from a business perspective, it will limit you more as you age cuz your body will degrade.
