0:00 Hello. Hello friends, welcome to Adobe Live. I my name is Paco Siller, your host and we are here with our friend Patience Walton. Patience, how are you doing? >> I am doing fantastic. Thank you for asking. >> Excellent. Well, thank you everybody for your patience there. We had to kind of sort through some stuff on the back end and make sure we have a nice clean and ready to rock live stream for you. so speaking of the live stream patients, you are going to be showing us how you do some pre-production on Firefly boards, correct? Do you kind of want to just give us a quick elevator pitch on what we're going to be doing for the day?

0:31 >> Absolutely. So, I'm a creative director design instructor, and so one of my clients, they are a digital magazine called Flavor. it's kind of a spin on Living Single, which is a '9s show that came out back in the day. and so they do all things '9s or the the platform, they are all about all things '9s television and 2000 television. So, it's a nostalgia brand. And so, what we're doing today or what I use Firefly boards for, we're going to do is to plan out some content for them. So, I've done a lot of I use Firefly boards to do a lot of brainstorming and kind of put some colors together, play around with some imagery and just really do the same. Like, I would use Illustrator for this, but it's kind of easier on boards because I'm notating and keeping track of kind of the visual direction and, you know, playing around with Firefly and doing some things like that.

1:25 >> Amazing. Well, I love it. We have quite the live stream ahead of us. So, speaking of Firefly boards, this template is available for anybody that wants to remix it or kind of use it for pre-production just like you're seeing right now. And just so you all know, we are live. So, this is the very cool thing about Adobe Live is if you get to catch us while we're live, you can actually interact with us. So, I do have the YouTube chat up for any of our friends that want to pop in and say hello or ask any questions or any suggestions while we're live. I'm going to be keeping an eye on that and I will relay that to patients. I already see we got some friends. We got Sean Jacob.

1:59 Welcome friends. Thank you so much for joining us. Anybody else that's in the chat, feel free to say hello and feel free to ask any questions or any comments and I will be keeping an eye on that so we can make it part of the show. so without further ado, patients, why don't we kind of break it down on what we are going to be doing. So I see that we have some brand elements here >> and just just kind of back up a little bit. Did you is this a client that you've actually worked with already or is this kind of like a passion project that we're just doing for fun?

2:27 >> So, this is a client that actually has a brand presence. They just started. So, they're on and I'm part of the project. So, it's more passion project you know coming together kind of putting together some a platform for those of us 90 and 2000s kids that miss you know all the shows and things like that. So, they are on Instagram, they're on Facebook. Yeah, Facebook. they have like a group and then Instagram there's like an actual platform. Threads is where it's really going down. There's all kinds of heated discussions about the different shows and their perspectives. And then Tik Tok there's a platform there as well. and so every single month or so depending on how large the show is they kind of they spotlight a show. So like all of July and June was more so like around Living Single because Living Singles where Flavor magazine was. And so Flavor was kind of born from that. and so now what we're doing is we'll be highlighting a show called A Different World. it's coming out on Netflix in what is that on the 24th of September. So A Different World was like a 90s show that came out or 80s9s actually was spin-off of the Cosby Show.

3:37 And so this month they're doing a lot of highlight around the characters and you know some episode takes and things like that. So it's really more so like a cultural brand and it's one of those things where it's like a staple or trying to create like a staple in the community where you have these discussions and virtual watch parties and things like that. >> That's so fun. I love that. Thank you for letting us know what what their roots are and what they do. Are these shows do they specific on a certain genre or is it like any type of 90s and 80s shows? Is it like cartoons or was it a specific channels that they're focusing on?

4:11 >> So, right now it's more like 90s black TV. So, you got like your living singles, your different worlds, there's like Martin, there's like all of the different like I would say black TV. I could see it expanding into like TGIF shows and Seventh Heaven and things like that, but it started out, you know, with black TV just because of the name of the magazine and kind of paying homage to the magazine that way. And it started out as a passion project. So, it wasn't supposed to be anything. It was like, "Hey, let's try to figure out what this would look like and reimagine Flavor magazine for 2026." And we actually got the, you know, the the thought and the passion because the Devil Wars Prada came out and it was like, how could you make that magazine on that show look like something with Devil Wars Prada?

4:53 So, it went from that. Yeah. So, we created something, you know, and put some of the character imagery in there. And for this particular, you know, live stream, we won't be sharing that because it's copyright and IP and all that. However, because it went from being just a passion project to now full-blown everyone's like, "Oh my god, are you doing another one or what show are you highlighting next?" And it's like, what are we doing now? So, you know, we put together like a client brief and we put together like some social media assets and, you know, kind of the imagery and the direction for how we want things to go. and just really, you know, putting together like for this particular project, this is the they're doing a different world with the spin-off that's happening for Netflix, but it's more so looking at, okay, based off of the show, how do we make sure that we highlight the show with brand imagery. So like you know because it was a co the show was specifically around them going to college and you know them having all these different experiences in college and different go pledging in fraternities and sororities and different cultural moments and things like that. So for us it's more so brainstorming figuring out what that imagery could look like and what we can pretty much build out from a brand perspective for it to go because they have several different platforms. So they're on Substack, you know, Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook group, and, you know, now they have an email list. So it's like it's the thing it's growing. So it's like, what is all that?

6:20 >> That's amazing. Congratulations to you all. That's really cool to hear that. >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So it's just, you know, since it's growing, what does this look like as it grows? So now instead of it just being an Instagram, you know, image you post on there and it gets put on threads, what are the what are these hot takes that we're having? what are the this or that moments? What are the different things that we can get them to, you know, just to help push out more content? Because I mean, it's nostalgia. So, of course, if you're a 90s kid or a 2000's kid, you know, like you for me, I loved the 2000s. I loved the 90s. So, it's like, you know, tapping into the nostalgia, tapping into what makes people, you know, what what gives them all the feels.

7:01 >> The feels. That's that's a content gold mine is that resonation, right? and getting that emotional resonance. That's that's what gives that engagement and appeases the almighty algo. I love that you guys are leaning into that and it's it's kind of blown up and taking shape to be it its own community. so then what we have here on boards is essentially now that it's becoming this monster so to say is are we are we essentially figuring out what the brand is and how how we're going to be marketing it. So yeah, why don't we why don't you walk us through on what we have here and what we're thinking for this brand.

7:31 >> So definitely let me start off with this. So I start off with the brand imagery. So because we talk about like this idea of it looking like the devil's wear product and it's more like a modern looking magazine. We're I'm starting off with like this brand imagery. So this was one of the one or one of the first like promo drops. So like when the living single thing happened, it was just like okay let's just put out these you know push out this passion project of a magazine. we're going to highlight all the different characters and push it out there. And then as it expanded, it's like, okay, so we're going to go into a different show. That audience on social has no idea what the next show is. So for the drop, we need something that is like a character moment or a character image that kind of, you know, pulls you in. And so the main character on this show for a different world, he wore these flip up glasses. So of course we have this like, you know, phrase like if you know, you know. A different world is coming soon.

8:27 So, we're letting them know, hey, you know, this is happening. So, what I did here is I put the brand imagery here so I can reference it as I'm kind of brainstorming about how I want things to look. And so, I went and grabbed all of the logo colors here. So, I have like black, navy blue, purple, like this cream, and then like I have the logo on black. So, as I'm working through what I want the content to look like, I have several different things I can reference. And then what I did here was also put their color palette. So they have like this black and forest green and blue and purple and like this cream.

9:00 And a lot of times like if you look at this brand imagery at the bottom they have like great a gradient at the bottom that kind of goes from black to clear. So that way you can really see the text and what's happening with the text and you know see have so it can be kind of the star of the show along with the image. So that's kind of the reason for these dark colors. And then I just went in and grabbed some of the tech text references. So as I'm building out content, I can throw something on the page to kind of see what it looks like and play around with the imagery. So if I don't like it, we can kind of get rid of it. And if I do like it, we can kind of stick with it and I can take it and put it in Illustrator and build out, you know, the rest of the the imagery.

9:40 So that's kind of the typography that's here. Then what I also did was for my header font I have I picked out you know what the font pairings are. So of course we have this sansa font where we go like you know into an italics font for the main text that we want to make sure we highlight. And then for the secondary text we kind of put this together. And then I have some gradients here. So as I'm playing around with imagery and figuring out what things need to look like we put I put together some gradients so that way I can try it on top of the imagery while I was in Firefly. while I'm brainstorming and figuring out what that needs to look like. And then I have my mood board inspiration. So, we'll probably mood board together on this live. but right now, I just have boom boxes. So, I'm going to add some other things in here. one of the other things I really really like Firefly for is as I'm brainstorming. So, back in the day, we would sketch. I've been designing for over 20 years. So, we normally sketch or list out things or put things in notes. So for with Firefly boards, what I really really like is the fact that I can take all of my notes, all of my, you know, copy and pasted imagery, everything, and just dump it here like a big big big mood board. And so here, like I've been, you know, brainstorming around like what the icons could look like for for the different imagery or what the static and hero drops in my stories that like the different icons that would go on that.

11:06 So been kind of brainstorming that information here in my little notes section. and then over here I just put like some of the campaign notes and kind of the the way that they want the social media to go. So for like right here is like, you know, Monday they want a static drop. Tuesday is like a story set like a this or that. Wednesday is more like a quote card for the substack. they normally drop their their the the issues highlighting the characters on Thursday.

11:38 Friday is like an episode like a hot take which is you know people that's where you see the majority of all of the craziness because it's like oh well I don't agree with that take on that. and then normally on Saturday with this particular campaign because they're because the show is so large and it has so many cast members there'll be a a digital issue on Thursday and Saturday and then on Sunday there's another like you know push for that on on social. So, I have that here and then kind of like the breakdown of like who the client is, the kind of the engagement, the deliverables that we need. I have like a constraint of like we can't really use likenesses. We don't really want to use character names on graphics.

12:19 and then kind of like the architecture of how I want things to go. So, and then of course my other notes section where I have my campaign notes of what imagery I want to use and you know what what imagery I want to use for each week. So, like right now we're working on week one and week two. And so, in week one, I've listed out all the different things I want to put together. And then for week two, it's not as extensive, but it's, you know, putting together some things for that as well.

12:47 >> This is amazing. I mean, I feel like we have like a brand kit and then like a content plan outline all here in Firefly. Yes. It's really cool to see it all in one platform, right? is, you know, instead of jumping between different tabs or going to different programs, kind of get the whole idea right here. I mean, what within the last like five minutes, we we have a very highlevel idea of what this brand is, what it's trying to do, and essentially what a content pipeline looks like, which is very cool to see.

13:15 >> Yeah. And I think I mean for me I use notion for like my content planning and then I use you know pen and paper to kind of you know if I'm inspired writing out different content ideas and things like that. And so with Firefly boards what I've seen that has worked is like I can put everything. So, my notes that I'm putting together, my, you know, content plan from notion, I can go back and forth and kind of look at it, but, you know, list out what things need to look like. Because over here in this section, what I've done is I've kind of listed out like, okay, well, week one, here's the here's the show, here's the, you know, the theme that I'm kind of going with for week one. And then the different characters that are there, and then kind of like my checklist. And this is normally like if you're having a conversation with your team around creative direction, what are the things we need to create, right? So, this normally would be in a project plan to kind of check off, you know, and make sure that we're doing it. But, if I'm putting together some im some brainstorming images and things like that, I want to be able to see what this checklist looks like. So, that way I can make sure that if I have to generate something in Firefly or grab an Adobe Stock image or put together, you know, a lockup for some text or figure out what the text needs to look like, I can have it right there, right at my fingertips.

14:27 >> Yeah. Yeah. That's that's a very great use case for it. And again, just want to shout out that you can access a template just like this. It's in the description of our YouTube event. so you have access to all this and use it in the same way that patients is using it. I mean, again, there's, you know, obviously you can do a deeper dive with the apps that excel in the certain things that you're trying to do like content planning, content calendar, or whatnot, but this is just a great way to mood board, ideulate, and kind of get everything like on a c on a single canvas when you're workshopping, ideulating, or just kind of pitching what is that you're trying to do. So very very cool stuff.

15:01 >> Yeah. And I think too like the other thing that I really like about this is that when I'm kind of planning out my you know weeks of content, what I've done also besides put my notes here is that each individual artboard is sized based off of the social media campaign that I'm doing that week. So like I have my static Instagram feed image that I can kind of copy and paste if I'm going to do a carousel or just have it be just a static photo. I have the quote graphic. So, this is the graphic that I can put on Instagram or Facebook or send out when you know you're sending out this the sending out the save the date or the you know reminder that hey a substack article is coming. I have my story set graphic so it's sized for stories. I have my real the real what do you call it? The the sizing for my reals and I have my group my Facebook group like the sizing for what that would be in Facebook and then the Substack header for what that's supposed to look like and then they have like a YouTube playlist that goes with each character. So like the YouTube playlist imagery sizing for that as well. So while I'm doing everything I can kind of size it based off of what I'm brainstorming. And then the other thing that I really really love is that I was able to kind of split out by week how I want, you know, things to look like. So, you know, instead of having all of this kind of being in Illustrator, I can throw all of this here and kind of go back to it. And then two, I can share this. So, one of the things that I've also noticed is as a graphic designer, people don't necessarily have access to Illustrator, but they do have access if they have a Firefly account or Adobe account, they can access firefly. So for my, you know, my friends and people that are a part of this project that are able to see the the that that have access to, you know, Adobe Express and things like that, they'll sign up for Firefly and I can say, "Hey, here's the link. You can kind of see where we're going with this and then, you know, go get in Illustrator or get in Photoshop and and and edit out these images and things like that."

16:58 >> That's great. Yeah. So, you've essentially turned this into a collaborative tool as well, which is awesome. And yeah, you don't need the whole suite to be able to access and collaborate, right? like as long as they have Express and they have access to Firefly, then they can go in there and just kind of workshop with you. >> Right. So, I think right now what I'm going to do is I'm going to use Adobe Stock to kind of mood board before we get into building out the content just so I can kind of see the direction I want to go in. And so, if I'm looking at my notes, this particular tribute issue, this is basically around like a fictional H.B.CU. And so we're looking at like nerdy cool academic imagery and then like some high fashion sense because these are two characters that they're highlighting from the show. So I'm going to use Adobe Stock to go find imagery to go along with what we are looking to highlight. and whatever I can't find on stock that I'm going to generate using Firefly. So the first thing I want to do is kind of find out like a letterman jacket. And I also have like some ideas here over over in this section too that kind of help me with putting things together. So, going to try to look for like a Letterman jacket and kind of scroll through there.

18:08 And I'm finding a Letterman jacket, but I don't necessarily want the person. So, what I'm going to do is use Firefly to tell it to, create a Letterman jacket. While you're doing that, I see we have some friends in the chat. So, just saying hey to let's see, we got Andrea, we got Ian, we got AGD, we got Ryan Turner. yeah, thank you all for coming in and saying hi. Again, if you have any questions or any suggestions on maybe some things that we can generate, feel free to drop them in the chat.

18:48 we are kind of, if you're just joining us, we're taking Flavo, which is this new brand that is essentially taken up a mind of its own. and it's becoming into this monster with the nostalgia of 90s early 90s 80s television shows with African-American characters and we're just kind of coming up with a content calendar and content plan on how we can market this brand to complement the content calendar. So whether it's episode drops, whether it's character teases, whether it's hot takes on certain episodes, Patience has done an amazing job in essentially building a brand kit and a brand for this this new what would what would we call it? We would call it >> I'd say it's like a 90s nostalgia magazine. Like I think it's 90s nostalgia.

19:35 >> Nostalgia. >> Yeah, it's nostalgia. So yeah, we're what was the name of this character that is it? Is it the one with the glasses? Yes, it's it's Dwayne Wayne. Yes, >> Dwayne Wayne. Okay, cool. I was just looking at images. I'm like, I definitely remember that girl. I was also a 90s kid growing up. I'm like, I >> remember the glasses. >> Yes. >> >> Yeah, I'm see. >> So, we're focusing on Dwayne Wayne today. We're focusing on Dwayne and Whit. That's like the main you know, the main characters in the show is Dwayne and Whitley. They're back and forth. They're they're I would say they're >> on again, offagain love. Like there was a big 90 second we did the other day where it was like at the end of I would say at the end of one of the >> seasons they got married and I was like the way that he did this was this was it toxic or was it you know one of those things where he's out here >> there's an idea for a hot take.

20:32 >> Yeah. Oh no it's out there. We had it was a high tech like did he was it toxic the way he did this cuz it was on again off again then she's getting married and here he comes talking about hey I want to marry you and it's like well where were you at before she was with him so it's a whole thing I'll also show here with my carousel imagery while I'm kind of you know trying to figure out other imagery to go with it.

20:56 This right here is a car one of the carousels like a this or that take situation. So, this is more n like more 90s things where we're looking at like a CD Walkman or boom box or, you know, VHS text or or VHS tapes or a cassette tape or like a pager versus a corded phone. So, this is all '9s nostalgia here because none of this stuff exists now. I mean, I saw that they were putting out I saw some I went to Five Below and they have CD players. So, I was like, "Oh, okay. CD players and no CDs." So, now we're going backwards. But definitely looking at ways to, you know, kind of drive drive what we're doing here. So, we're looking for look or we're going to go into putting together the I think we're doing the mood board.

21:39 So, I'm still kind of mood boarding and thinking about like ' 90s imagery. So, we have like a Letterman jacket. Do some search in stock for some more 90s imagery. >> We got a comment in the chat saying, " you're speaking my language. I may have owned a pair of glasses like Dwayne. I may have had a Jasmine guy poster hanging in my room. >> That's hysterical. >> That's amazing. >> That is hysterical. I want some Dwayne way glasses. Like I actually wear glasses. So I'm like, can I find some glasses that I would love to have some glasses like that. I probably won't wear them on a regular basis, but I would love to have them.

22:16 >> So I'm grabbing some stuff from stock right now. just some like imagery that kind of just to help with with mood boarding. So, right now I have like the boom box to start out with. We have the Walkman. We got the TV that, you know, had the antenna. Back then you had to wait for shows to come on. I was explaining that to my kids the other day. They were like, "Oh, my son was sitting in the in his in the in my den and he like was running back and forth trying to watch the show." And I was like, "This is not the '9s. You can pause what you're watching. go do what you need to do and come back. And he was like, "Well, you didn't get to do that?"

22:54 No. I had to wait for the show to come on and hope and pray that I see the the rerun. Like, no. >> They don't know how good they have it. Yeah. I was going to say if you missed it, then you would hope >> there was a there was a rerun, too. And I remember I don't know if you remember like super early TV guides. Like there was a channel that was dedicated to a TV guide, but it scrolled, right? So, it's not like you don't have a remote to control this TV, guys. You would have to wait till it scroll to like MTV or like BET or like the comedy channel and then see when they might play that rerun and oh man, I haven't thought about that in forever. The the TV guy channel that you would just wait to like hope that your show would play, but you still didn't know. You could wait like 10 minutes and it still might not be the thing that you're hoping for.

23:38 >> No. And that's what I was trying to tell him. I was like, "You can like walk away and come back like it's no big deal." He's like, "Oh, yeah." I'm like, "You guys are blessed because you can go back and watch your show. We didn't have that." And like you said, for TV got if you missed the channel, it's like, "Well, I guess I got to wait for this to scroll back through again." >> Oh, that's so funny.

24:00 >> Yeah. So, I'm still grabbing some imagery over here for the for like you got some, you know, some some what what college looks like. Little lecture hall. try to see if I can find a cafeteria photo. I try to when I do stuff like this, I try to find as much as I can on Adobe Stock and then because I like to save my Firefly credits. I I you know hold on to them like candy.

24:23 So, I try to like save my Firefly credits until it's something where it's like, okay, I'm not going to find it on stock and then I'll go and use Firefly to generate it, but trying to just find some imagery around this show. like cafeteria and lecture halls and things like that. And then we'll move into like the the text lockup and what that would look like. >> Pearly cream cheese is saying in my day TV guide was a printed booklet. That's right. That's that was >> Wow. It was a printed booklet.

24:54 >> It was a printed booklet. It was red. Right. I feel like I remember going being at the checkout store and there'd be like the TV guide that you can look at. >> Yes. >> So they can tell you what's coming on. Yes, it was. So, okay. So, I have I put together like a mood board of what I want things to look like, which is over here. And that's the other thing I really love about Firefly boards. I really do. The fact that I can scroll out and see all of this stuff in one place. So, like I have my mood board over here and then I have my content over here. So, if I don't want to because also slight add so it's like I can't look at what's going on over there once I kind of have the idea. So, that's the other thing I really like about it.

25:33 So, I'm gonna use Firefly to generate an image. I'm going to do the flip up, those flip up glasses that Dwayane Wade or Dwayne Wayne wears. and then we'll put together like a text lock up for it for the for the drop that's happening. Let's see. And I know I probably need to be a little bit more give Firefly a little bit more context when it comes to what it is that I need. Yeah. Let's see.

26:04 >> It'd be funny if it just like doesn't know what flip up glasses. >> No, it does not. >> Or maybe Yeah, maybe that's the keyword, right? 90s. Yeah, because I remember seeing those like in the 90s and 80s. I just don't really see it. So maybe 90s is the unlock. Maybe it'll it'll know. >> We'll see. >> I hope it Oh my goodness. >> No, it doesn't know the world. >> It's crazy cuz the other image I made I made in Firefly, but I can't find the actual image. I think I accidentally deleted it when I generated it. I mean, you could always use it as a composition reference. So, that way it knows exactly what >> That's right. You're absolutely right about that. I forgot you can. You can tell it to use this as a reference.

26:41 >> So, you would just go there. Yeah. And then click it and then that way it knows what we're thinking. >> Well, let's copy and paste it and see if we can do that because Yeah. And I think that's how I got these glasses in the first place. Like I used it as a composition image. So, let's see. >> Yeah. So you can click on composition or you Yeah, sample from canvas will work too. There we go. Yeah. So just click on that and then Yeah, now it knows now.

27:05 Now it's picking up what we're putting down, >> right? Let's see if it brings something. Let's see what we come up with now. >> And just a quick time check. We're about a little over halfway done. So we got maybe about 25ish more minutes, I'd say. >> Perfect. Let's see what Firefly gives us. >> All right, let's see that. >> And while it's doing that, while it's because I like to multitask. So, while it's Oh, there you go. So, it gave me this. So, I need to tell it to take just flip up glasses by themselves.

27:48 Cool. And if it doesn't if it doesn't do that, you could always just screenshot the glasses without the text and then just and put it back in there. >> My friends might Oh, there we go. Okay. Did it, >> I think. Well, no, we're still not there. You know, we're going to get there at some point. We are going to get there at some point. >> I love how it put like a monle on the glasses. That's That's a new one.

28:11 >> Yeah, that's interesting. So, let me grab this again. Take this over there. That's the problem. And that's the problem I have with trying to like prompt Firefly is like I have to give all the context and it's like no you know what I'm talking about. I was like no girl I don't. No I don't know what you're talking about. Give me some more options. >> There we go. >> Back to that. >> I think without the text that will >> give me something. Yep.

28:37 >> And are we are we exploring here just different versions of what those flip up glasses could look like? >> Well just honestly exploring what it would look like for a static image. So, I'm going to grab the glasses once we get the right version of them, and then I'm going to use them for We're almost there. Almost there. We matter of fact, what I'll do is use I'll just use the imagery that I already have while we figure this out because I don't want to run out of time trying to generate glasses.

29:05 >> So, in a perfect world, I would have prompted a Firefly correctly and got what I needed and I did not. So, we're that's a perfect world. But what I'm going to do is take these glasses and use and put them here for this next drop because this will be, you know, the the campaign drop to say, "Hey, we're about to highlight Dwayne Wayne because he has his glasses." And then I'm going to go over to where my gradients are. and grab the gradients. And I I forgot to even highlight this. I have like my merch notes because I can use Firefly to make u merch in here or make products. I put my merch notes in here, too, while I was brainstorming. So, I'm going to grab this black gradient. Bring this over here to where I'm at. Love the copy and paste feature. I don't have to do a whole lot of nothing with that.

29:56 And I'll make this a little bit smaller. Nice. And then the idea with this gradient, are we going to do it as an overlay or is it going to live in the background? Okay. >> It would be more like an overlay, but I think I've changed my mind. I want to do like a where I have it like black at the bottom so I can kind of highlight the like I'll probably put the gradient on top of this black. But I'm going to do that. And then I'm going to go grab actually think I've changed my mind again. So I think I'm going to pull this down because of my glasses. Pull this down.

30:38 and then grab this black. Put it on the top. So like the glasses are main focal point of that. But then I'm gonna go grab >> very cool >> my text that's way over here. And then the lock up for the join for more. Oh, and then I also want to grab my flavor logo. So I got my flavor logo. I have my join for more inside flavor in this. and copy this and then take it back over here.

31:10 So, all of my stuff is here. I just have to kind of go grab it. I'm going to make this white. So, we got your ad. I got my text here to go underneath here. And then where' my logo go? Here it goes. There's my logo. Nice. Yeah, it's super useful to be able to have all this stuff at your disposal just on a different canvas. So, just dragging and dropping >> compositing and making all this look nicely on our canvases that we've built out for a static >> the quote. Yeah, you have all the dimensions ready to rock. That's great.

31:57 Yeah, I went in here and just, you know, put everything together so that as I'm brainstorming and putting all of the assets together, I don't have to, you know, re I can I can size it for what it needs to look like, which I really like because once again, it's And then two, what I love is that I can take this on the go. So, like I know there's like Illustrator for iPad and stuff like that, but like I can take this with me wherever I'm at. if I'm on my iPad or if I'm on somebody else's computer or if I forget my laptop, whatever the case, like I love that I can go in here and kind of set or log into Firefly and access all my stuff on the go. So, that is like something that I'm just like over the moon excited about.

32:39 >> Yeah, that's a big one, right? I mean, it's all it's all available like you have access to an internet and a browser. You can grab all this. You're ready to rock. And yeah, and it's it's great how it's crossunctional with devices. So yeah, if you wanted to hop on the iPad and work on Illustrator on the iPad or Photoshop or even like Fresco to illustrate, you have all the assets right there. >> Exactly. So that's like that I would say like that's what made this a game changer for me because normally like back in the day before Firefly even or before this even existed, I would have been in Illustrator like copying and pasting graphics or putting them in my library and then compositing and putting things together. So, just the fact that I have this all at my fingertips makes it like very very easy and it makes me very very happy.

33:21 >> Yeah, that's a big one. It's a big unlock. >> Yes, it is. So, I'm just that that when I when I when I read when this came out, I was like, "Oh, I can mood board on the on the go." >> On the fly. >> It's like It's like Pinterest but like at your fingertips. Oh. Oh my god. The last thing that I need is that. >> Okay, cool. And there's the handle for flavor. So yeah, I'm like, how do we find it? So there's >> go to inside flavor. Yes. That's all the flavor is across the board. So if you go to Instagram, it's inside flavor. If you go to threads, it's inside flavor. If you go to Tik Tok, it's all the same handle. So go follow it. We We're over there rocking and rolling at this point.

34:03 So like I said, we did not expect for it to take off the way that it did, but it's taking off and so >> we're going to keep it pushing. I like I like that sound, but I don't know if you if you came up with that on the fly, if you used it, but the flavor is across the board because it's because the hand it's the handle is across it's the same one across all the different Absolutely.

34:24 >> Absolutely. Well, it was Reed Flavor and one of our platforms got hacked after we grew it. So, that was a devastating moment. So, it end up getting changed to inside flavor. And I actually like the inside flavor better because it doesn't it doesn't give the insinuation that you have to read in order for you to be a part of whatever we're doing. So, if you like the hot takes, you can go back and forth with the hot takes. You don't necessarily have to, you know, read the digital magazine if that's not your flavor. So, you know, that I love. So, what I've done here is essentially put together the static drop image that I think I'm going to go with or at least brainstorm kind of the direction I want it to go in. And then make my handle a little bit smaller.

35:09 >> And Mrs. Swag is saying it's it's huge to be able to have that accessibility. And I agree, right? Like that's what we were talking about to be able to have this on the fly in whatever device because we don't need any extra storage devices to haul it around. It lives in the interwebs. >> Well, and I also like too like how some like I can, you know, scroll it or or zoom it out or I can look at everything as a whole. So when I fill in the rest of this imagery, I can, you know, look at it as a whole or I can zoom in and, you know, make sure that I can see whatever is happening as on the entire composition. So, like I like the way this looks. I'm going to have to add some text. I don't have the text that I want to add, but I can go in here and add, you know, this little placeholder for my text. And then two, love this feature. The fact that all the Adobe fonts are in here. So, that makes me very happy because it's the same fonts that are in Illustrator that are in Photoshop. So, across the board, I can go in here and add in my fonts. I think the only thing that I wasn't able to do is like the kerning and things like that just because it's more brainstorming.

36:11 But at least I know like this is how it's going to look, you know, and this is the way it needs to look. And even with like the handle, it's the same font as the the wording that's underneath the header. And so I don't necessarily want it to be that way. So I'm going to copy and paste this and then make the the wording be like a lighter version of Poppins so that it's not standing out as much as it's standing out. So that this is like that this and the fact that I can really put together my notes and throw everything together like that.

36:40 That's my favorite absolute favorite feature about about boards. Like once I figure once I figured out I could do that it it was a wrap. >> That was it. >> Yeah, it was it. I was like I'm sold. I'm sold. >> Yep. That's it. It's it for me. All right. So I've gone in. I found this. So, like I want the handle to be prominent, but I really like I don't want it to be more than what the the secondary text looks like. So, I kind of made it a lighter text just so that it will be out of the way and putting it at the bottom. And I may make it a little bit more bold. But for now, we're going to go there. So, this is my first image.

37:19 And then, of course, I'll probably put some verbiage up here that kind of says like what this is because if just just off seeing it, you wouldn't know what it is. So, normally this would be like the verbiage that kind of gives a breakdown similar to the other page. This is like it's a '9s 2000s tribute magazine. And so, then I'm going to take this same imagery for his glasses and take this for my quote image and put this here.

37:44 And this is where I would probably use a gradient for an overlay and kind of block it out. But I'll probably use this black, too. So that way, I mean, once again, so easy cuz I can just take this. Here's my quote image. put this over here and then whatever the quote is going to be like you know use my use this right here and then get ready for get ready to put the quote or whatever that's there. So I'll just put you know the Wayne quote just so that I remember >> does he have a quote top of mind that was kind of like a a staple within his character? Honestly, he does because he actually at the end of the thing when he was trying to get her to marry him, which is a hot take that he took drug his feet is, "Baby, please." So, we're going to use that. Yeah, we'll use that because he's like, "Please marry me, baby." And it's like, "Okay." All right.

38:32 >> So, we're gonna I'll use that. >> So, and then because of the fact that we use like the ital the italics on the side of it. So, I'm going to go grab >> my And then once again, like it saves my font like oh my god. Saves my font. So, I can go grab what the font pairing is. And then we'll put this here. go grab this. So, I just, you know, kind of copy this over here. And this just put Dwayne Wayne.

39:00 >> Oh, that's so fun. And the the emphasis on the please, like, baby, please. >> Right. Right. Right. Right. So, we have that here. And then the other thing like for so we got the quote graphic, we got the static feed. Move this down. It's going to drive me crazy. So, move this to the middle of the thing. and then we have like the story set.

39:30 So, I don't think I brought them in here, but the other thing that I did with when I was creating the assets in Illustrator is that I made some patterns that I want to use in this. So, I'm going to go grab the patterns for this hot take that's there. See? Yeah. So, I have these two patterns that I put together for this. And then, you know, putting it in Firefly, of course, I love the fact that it just kind of you can drop it in there and it's aligned.

40:06 >> Yeah. >> Did you make these yourself? >> Yes, I did. So, >> illustrator, maybe. This looks like an illustrator job. Yes, it is. So, it was a pattern. I made I put the imagery together and then Illustrator made it into a pattern for me. >> So, with the hot take >> I want to like have I still want to have actually I'm going to do the black instead because I I want the focal point to be on the imagery. So, I'm going to go grab this. And then, of course, we have the imagery around the quote graphic and the story set. So, we have this pattern that has the name of the magazine on it. And I'm going to just grab this and drag it here. And I already have the opacity set that as soon as I put a black background on it, you're not going to be able to see like it'll be more faint. so I'm going to grab my black background, paste it here, and then put this behind it.

41:06 >> Now we have that. And then I'm gonna grab this furbish here and put it on top of here. So we can say, so now there's our this or that or our, you know, our story set graphics where it's like, you know, hot take. So I would use this and use like or use my I say hot take and then pull this up to the top. And now I have my Dwayne Wayne hot take. So I just say, you know, was Dwayne Wayne?

41:37 Let me pull this. Let me make sure I can see this. So was Dwayne Wayne toxic when he interrupted Whitley's wedding. >> Whitley's wedding. So this has already been posted, right? Did you did you get a lot of activity with >> the the video? The video has been posted. So we posted a video of the wedding, but we didn't post this hot take in the stories. So a lot of times I what I noticed on social media is you get you get different takes based off the platform. So like on Tik Tok, some of them said he was being toxic.

42:20 Other on Instagram, you have the conversation of like, well, you know, they really didn't know what they wanted to do. they were young. So, we posted the video of the actual scene, but like in Tik Tok, you'll get I mean in in Instagram, this is one of those things where you could take it and be like yes or no. So, they can just press yes or no versus commenting in the comments. So, you got the hot take here. And then, of course, I'm going to go grab my handle. Put my handle here just so that I can make sure that it's on everything. So, I'm looking at it, making sure it has a look across the board. Grab this here. Bring this over here. So now the handle's on it. So if anyone tries to screenshot it, you're going to see the handle of the platform.

43:00 >> You know where it belongs. >> Yes. >> that's funny. I wonder Yeah, that's a that's probably a fun case study to look at is like which platform sites with which hot take, right? Like I think it's tied to the demographics, >> right? >> Who's using that platform. But yeah, that's that's funny to see or hear that you got different hot takes based on because I >> talk they're like he's toxic. He wasted our said, "Oh, okay. Tik Tok is they they're not they like get him out of here." And then on Instagram, it's like, "It's true love.

43:31 >> It's true love. Give him a chance." >> It's true love. So, here's another like this is the real. So, like on the on the platform when we go and grab like some of the scenes and stuff from the different shows or do some screen grabs that like I normally use we'll normally have the the brand front and center, but it's like an open space where we'll use like a TV. >> Oh, that's fun. I see.

43:54 >> With a green screen. >> Okay. Yeah. It's like a placeholder for the clips kind of like a >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. And it's too Yes. It ties back to the account. >> Yeah. So it ties back to the account and then kind of just put this here. So the good thing is like we can go back and forth between those the that those those neon colors or we can stay with black but because of the glasses like I didn't want to come and bring the neon colors to the glasses and and do that.

44:24 And then even with the Facebook group once again like taking this and maybe putting this over on this side and let's see >> Facebook >> we got a comment saying hey on threads we stand with Dwayne interrupting the wedding. So all right >> we got the threads crew coming in. >> See the the threads are they are like we stand with Dwayne. Dwayne could interrupt the wedding and we are okay with that.

44:54 That's funny. The takes are so different. >> They are different. Just another quick time check. We got about two minutes left before we got time flies. But yeah, we're coming up to the end here, >> right? So then let me go ahead and pull this out so we can look at what we've done so far in the last hour. So within the last hour, we kind of reviewed over we we reviewed kind of the what it is we're I'm using Firefly boards for.

45:20 here's like my notes area. We've so far built based off of an image that I already had it generated in Firefly. We've built out a standard Instagram feed. We built out the quote graphic, the story set. >> Sorry, patience. Can you remove the search bar on the right that just says loading? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I think it's just stock. So, if you Yeah, there we go. >> All right. There we go. So we got so we've built out so far the static feed, the quote graphic, the story set, the hot take utilizing our brand elements for the brand. So the brand elements were over on this side away from my weekly stuff so I could kind of pay attention to what I wanted to pay attention at the time. So we have the patterns that we were using for the story set and the Instagram feed. We have our header fonts that we grabbed all of this Adobe font Adobe fonts from the Adobe fonts that we used in Illustrator. Our typography is here. We have our color palette, our gradients, and then kind of our mood board inspiration we're putting together. And then the logo and then the branded image that we use to pull all the stuff together. And then ultimately once I build this board out completely, I'm going to put some icons together. So this right here is more of my brainstorming for my icons. So really just taking the brand elements and imagery and putting together a full and concise content plan for a client.

46:41 >> How fun. Well, thank you so much for showing us how you use mood boards to bring your 90s magazine creation flavor to life. so very cool patients, that was amazing. again, if you all want to access Firefly boards, it is available in the description below. So go ahead and click it. Make sure to hit that remix button so you have access to it. And as you can see, it's a great way to just kind of ideate what you're going to do with your brand, how to content plan and just mood board and get different ideas and essentially design.

47:08 So, very, very fun stuff. patience, you've been amazing to host. That was really, really fun to watch and thank you for letting us know about your project and how it's taken off. We'll definitely keep an eye on that. And don't go anywhere because we have more Adobe Live coming up. Ryan Sely's coming up with his file new show. So, that will be coming up in about three minutes. Don't go anywhere. Stay tuned. We'll be back in just a few. Bye everybody.
