0:01 present play stories hi thank you so much for taking the time to join me I know how busy oh I really appreciate it thank you so much for having me and Leila so will you just briefly introduce yourself and your family so that we can all get to know you how all the kids that kind of thing yeah so I am a mother of three girls I have a four year old two and a half year old and nine month
0:32 old and I've been working full-time as a midwife for quite some time now through having my last two so I'm a full-time working mom on call I you as a midwife I see people going through the transition into Parenthood with just scrutiny and criticism and so much unwelcome advice and it's overwhelming and then dealing with it as a parent myself it's just so easy to fall into this horrible trap of feeling guilty I can't remember it very
1:00 clearly because I was really in survival mode um you know I know that I loved working and I love my work so much but I know when I came home it was just you know default parenting and stuff was just in chaos nothing was organized and I'm someone who we need you know my external surroundings really affect my internal state and I feel like I was just kind of frazzled all the time and didn't even have time to care about it truly like it
1:28 was just sort of you know this is what its gonna be and I'm just gonna try to survive I wasn't conscious I wasn't present I was really just getting through the day and that's not ever been a goal of mine and especially have always been interested in parenting and consciousness from parenting and it just it my my life was not accommodating that at that time that's probably when I would lose it consistently you know I have a lot of guilt around that time
1:56 that I still need to process so I think we're still dealing with with that just digesting and really acknowledging it it was very recently I realized wow you know like I think that there's still some new things that are coming for my four-year-old just because she publicly was just totally lost and didn't know where she stood with me so don't work to be done but I have hopefully the space and the tools now to be able to move forward I you know when
2:27 I joined presently I didn't really know what I was joining I had seen a bunch of your videos and like early days and your questions had always been full so I'm like I'm just gonna go on the wait list for the next one and see what happens and it happened to be President play and I truly actually thought I had that figured out growing up in a Waldorf home and I did I was intentional about toys
2:49 or so I thought not but I had no idea I think for me the biggest shift has been decluttering and come from a family that really holds on to things and also you know organizational systems that are so simple but just to know how to do it just the just the consciousness around everything that that that brought life changing inside outside it's all changed
3:19 significantly you know I look around my house and you know from from the inside out like on the inside and so many things have changed even though I just don't have crappy days and we still have rush days and days that feel like totally not flowy I I have the tools to get back to calm get back to flow everything has a process in place where they can be the most independent as possible which just the sanity that
3:50 comes with that is unreal it's permeated every aspect of our life the piece that I have with that is incredible I'm able to kind of problem solve and find ways to make it better because now I have the tools and experience of being able to change things say okay yeah this isn't working how can you change this words I just often feel lost before and I'm holding on to stuff but really didn't need to hold on to you know the present play
4:15 community I get so emotional any time you know we talk about it or discuss on how life-changing it is just the list space to be loved and held and and to really bring up anything that's on our mind and change our lives on so many levels is unbelievable I could never have imagined that this place existed and in such a beautiful non-judgmental way I've been in other parenting groups where I just kind of left feeling like
4:45 wow wow that sounds great but I'm a failure you know I still have my survival moments but I have these small little flickers in my mind throughout the day where I can stop and just be present and conscious which just didn't I would just get into this reptilian brain go-go-go mode and miss everything and then have these epiphanies and feel horrible and then just back into struggle it's huge I can repair I can connect even on little
5:17 in little ways so that's huge it's just beautiful to have access to such an amazing amazing supportive loving judgmental thanks planner that's amazing I feel the same thank you again so much for taking the time I hope you know a good night's sleep I just wish you rest now I have lots of people that are waiting on babies so maybe not tonight present play stories
