0:00 I'm going to reject the cultural narrative that the mental load is so heavy and so difficult, that we have no choice, that the patriarchy did it to us, all that passive language, right? That you're trapped that others take advantage of you, that there are no other choices, that mothers just have it so hard that it may be true. It may be true, but it's useless and it leaves me feeling disempowered and miserable. So, I'm not going to go along with it. I'm not going to adopt it as my self-t talk.

0:31 I'm going to reject that inner dialogue and that narrative about my life. No, excuse me. Screw you. You're going to tell me that I was chained up, that I was forced, that I was taking a No. This is my choice. I want to be a mother. I want to be a homemaker. I or fine. No. I want to be a boss babe. I I want to have, you know, child care and go out and work. Whatever you want. You could choose. It's a free country. We are so lucky. We are so lucky to live in free countries where we get to choose. Okay?

1:02 Not everybody has that. Many, many millions of people, 40 million people in the world today live in slavery. 40 million people in the world today live in slavery. Uh they don't have a choice. People are taken hostage all the time, kidnapped, used, forced. If that's not me, then I can't behave as if it is. Okay, that that that's that's that's a little bit too much, right? That's taking it a little bit too far. If I wasn't forced into this life, right, by violent threat and coercion, then how about I behave like a free person that I am, and I'm grateful for the choices that I have, and I pay the price graciously.
