0:01 [Music] we don't do conferences like this in San Francisco you see and we thought like why not have an interview in the car why not and sometimes it's like you ready I'm ready hi folks it's me Amyas and this is one more episode of moving minds the

0:32 interview that takes the biggest brains in tech for a spin around Lisbon to talk about the latest highlights in the industry in this time I'm joined by fellow Fateh me hope I pronounced it the right way yep you got it the founder of discovery engine note hi how you doing good excited to be here ready flow right I'm ready for a ride I hope you're a good driver I hope so too what we've invented is artificial

0:58 intuition you train node on your understanding of who your best customers are who your best employees are you know what what what are the types of companies for example you want to work for and node we'll figure out what does that mean essentially learning your intuition of what you want to find more of and we'll use that to predict the next people and companies that will result in your next hires customers markets of opportunity or jobs that was

1:28 a perfect elevator pitch so what was the inside I mean the Big Bang the reason that made you start note so I spent six years in Google I'm and then spent six years in the startup world until Canali and I was making a lot of introductions between people and companies and resources and doing strategy consulting for startups you know I even consulted for investors and some Corp dev and I was doing a lot of matchmaking so

1:56 I decided to do an analysis of all the introductions I made open last six years with all the people and companies I worked with and uncovered that a lot of the outcomes of those introductions have resulted in life-changing sort of impacts for these individuals and businesses so for example I find out my introductions led to millions of dollars in investment a number of acquisitions a number of sales marketing partnerships hires marriages even a merger no I

2:23 didn't get anything for doing any of this by the way okay but that was really a moment where I realized there's this matchmaking capability that I have that's almost accelerating the serendipity for the people in my network that I was just constantly interacting with and I started to think about well what if I could productize that you know what if I could accelerate serendipity for everybody at scale and and that's that's really where the idea for note

2:46 was born how do you find the balance between the human side of making connection with the AI data-driven side oh for sure I mean I think in general what we're seeing with the impact of AI and the future of work at networking is that it's shifting our roles in a lot of this manual you know brute force research or really the luck that we have and getting introduced to people or being at the right place at the right

3:10 time like an event like Web Summit right and really approaching the problem in a better way essentially automating the elements of sourcing and really top of funnel identification right who are the people on companies I should know but I don't know that I should search for you right that's a fundamental question that we are answering and that we are predicting with upwards of 5x higher conversions for customers like my tall ShoreTel information builders Nutanix and so I think in terms of the human

3:41 aspect we're actually augmenting and sort of evolving the roles of these humans at these organizations whose job right now is to act like human crawlers right research on LinkedIn collé people you know search or purchase lists and hopefully find the right people and said evolve their rules from manual research to decision-making in judgment and serving up those recommendations to free up 60% of their time is spent doing non high-value activities the human side of the activities is what we're allowing them

4:12 to now focus the majority of their to 100% exactly so we're trying to actually help make relationships more human by the way for more interesting talks check out the other episodes of moving minds [Applause] [Music]
