Understanding the Cyberattack
What is the nature of the current cyberattack?
The cyberattack is a significant issue that may indicate a trend of frequent attacks rather than an isolated incident.
- Cyberattacks are expected to occur more frequently than every 10 days.
- There is a growing concern about the ongoing technology debt that organizations need to address.
- The urgency of addressing vulnerabilities is highlighted.
Addressing Technology Debt
What challenges are organizations facing regarding technology vulnerabilities?
Organizations have neglected to address their technology debt, leading to vulnerabilities that need urgent attention.
- Organizations must prioritize fixing existing vulnerabilities.
- Ignoring technology debt can lead to increased risks of cyberattacks.
- Proactive measures are necessary to safeguard infrastructure.
Vulnerability Management Strategies
How can organizations manage vulnerabilities in their infrastructure?
Organizations can either patch vulnerabilities directly or implement perimeter defense solutions to protect against attacks.
- Patching vulnerabilities is one method to secure systems.
- Perimeter defense products can provide an additional layer of security.
- Both strategies are essential for comprehensive vulnerability management.
Implementing Virtual Patches
What is the role of virtual patches in cybersecurity?
Virtual patches can be implemented in perimeter defense systems to block attackers from exploiting known vulnerabilities.
- Virtual patches serve as a temporary solution while permanent fixes are developed.
- They can effectively stop attackers from accessing vulnerabilities.
- Utilizing perimeter defenses is crucial in a proactive cybersecurity strategy.
The Ongoing Pressure from Cyberattacks
What is the sentiment among organizations facing constant cyber threats?
Organizations are feeling overwhelmed and frustrated by the continuous threat of cyberattacks.
- There is a sense of urgency and fatigue among organizations dealing with cyber threats.
- The pressure to find effective solutions is mounting.
- Organizations need to develop robust strategies to cope with ongoing cyber challenges.

0:00 There's a cyberattack. What's going on? Is this an acute issue or is this a harbinger of things to come and is this going to happen every 10 days? >> Jason, I think 10 days is too long. I think these things going to happen much faster than every 10 days. I think part of the challenge we're seeing is we've been talking about technology debt that we've all have to go pay sooner than later. And what's happened is people have not paid attention to the idea that they have to go fix their stuff. We found out about this a few days ago. We scanned everything in our infrastructure to make sure that there were no issues.
0:31 We made sure that our products had patches available for our customers to deploy them. So, there's two ways to solve this problem, right? One, you can go in and patch the vulnerability. You can go in, find the code, patch what has been given to you by PHP and make it work. The other is you can actually put it in a perimeter defense product like ours or Cloudflare has one or other firewalls have one. We put the patch there. It's a virtual patch so any attacker trying to access that vulnerability can stop the perimeter because we know what they're looking for.
0:57 >> Yes, Scott, the phones keep ringing every day and the conversation always is now how do I get out of this because I'm tired of getting punched in the face every morning when I wake up. >>
