0:00 I suggest you do develop a self-t talk that says I can trust that my kids are going to have a great relationship with me. I suggest you actually make a mental model in your mind right now of yourself as a grandma, of yourself as a mother to teenagers or to adults or whatever, you know, 10 years into the future, 20 years into the future. And I want you to know uh in your heart where you're going, okay? Where your needle is pointing.

0:28 Things can happen. No one can make promises. We know. But generally speaking, um I want to really encourage you to believe that your kids will call you, will come visit you, will ask you for advice, even sometimes will want to hang out with you, will laugh with you about childhood memories, will really enjoy uh their adult relationship with their adult parents. that you'll enrich their lives with wisdom, uh, with support, uh, with connection. Maybe that they'll even want to live near you. Maybe that they'll even let you babysit their kids from time to time, that you'll have big family dinners and vacations and that it's going to be beautiful. And there's no reason to believe that that wouldn't be the case. Relationships are robust and thick and rich and you can get there. and you are getting there and you're that's the path that you're on.

1:27 Okay. Um every single person in HIFAM by definition just by virtue of the fact that you're here is a very invested parent. Okay. You clearly care deeply and that is more than half the battle for a child to want a relationship with you. Okay.
