The freedom worth dying for

0:00 I think free speech is hanging by a thread globally and that thread is Elon Musk. What's happening on X right now the in the change of consciousness and the way that he's changed the algorithms um you know to allow for you know much more diversity and let's be honest a lot more right-wing content than anybody had even been aware existed. I mean I wasn't even aware that this quantity of right-wing content was possible. Part of me wonders how long it'll last. Like I just kind of go it's such an extremely unusual moment to have this level of of free speech on a platform. We've never seen anything like it. Free speech is like the only issue well I should say it's the only issue I work on that I would die for. I don't want to live if I can't use my voice to express my feelings. I don't want my kids to have to live in that world. There's just some instinct in a lot of people to want to make other people be be silent. It's something very deep in people to shut people up. It's how humans have actually behaved for most of our history is by silencing certain groups of people. It's such a rare I get kind of misty thinking about because it's just this little very rare tiny period of time like last 250 years where free speech at this seriously radical level has existed in really only one place in the world. So for me it's like I feel such gratitude towards the founders who had this vision of free of the first amendment of free speech.
